Gervais Baudoin
Gervais Baudoin (3 August 1686 – 30 June 1752) was born in Quebec, the son of Gervais Baudouin, a surgeon-major of Quebec. He decided to pursue the medical profession and became a surgeon. Baudoin studied at the seminary of Quebec and then studied and practiced surgery. At one point in his career, he attempted to obtain his father's position as surgeon-major of Quebec but was unsuccessful. It appears that he applied himself almost exclusively to his profession after that point. Gervais Baudouin
Gervais Baudouin (c. 1645 – 1700) was a surgeon born in France who came to New France about 1677. Baudouin's practice in Quebec consisted of being the doctor to the local Ursulines The Ursulines, also known as the Order of Saint Ursula ( post-nominals: OSU), is an enclosed religious order of consecrated women that branched off from the Angelines, also known as the Company of Saint Ursula, in 1572. Michel Baudouin (Baudoin), (16 March 1691 – 1768), a Jesuit missionary, was born at Quebec and was the brother of Gervais Baudoin and son of Gervais Baudouin.
