Gerry Harvey
Gerry Harvey (born 18 September 1939) is an Australian entrepreneur best known for being the executive chairman of Harvey Norman Holdings, a company which runs Australian retail chain Harvey Norman. He co-founded it with Ian Norman in 1982. Biography Harvey was born in rural New South Wales and attended school at Bathurst and Katoomba before moving to Sydney to go to university when he was 17, but he dropped out. He got his start early, selling vacuum cleaners and fridges door-to-door for Goodwins of Newtown. When he was younger, Harvey was determined to be a farmer. Harvey first met Ian Norman while both were working as door-to-door vacuum salesmen. They partnered to open their first store in Sydney in 1961. The chain, which was called Norman Ross, expanded to forty-two stores with annual sales of 240 million by 1979. Baramul Stud
Baramul Stud is a racehorse stud farm in Australia. It was founded in 1940 by Sydney solicitor Alf Ellison, or A.O. as he was often known. The name of Baramul originally had two Rs. It was developed on land known as Joe's Paddock, that had previously produced some good early horses. Ellison earlier had his mares at the Widden Stud nearby. Its founder had an interest in horticulture, as well as racing and breeding, and he produced prize-winning camellias. Whilst visiting the Widden Valley, Ellison had discovered that the area was not only physically attractive but that it was good for the growing of pastures as well. After purchasing the land, the Department of Agriculture tested the soil and it was found to have just the right ratio of calcium to phosphorus for grazing cattle as well as horses, and cattle. Race Horses
Race Horses were a Welsh band based in Cardiff, Wales and originally from Aberystwyth. Formed in 2005 as Radio Luxembourg, they changed their name in 2009 due to possible legal problems with the radio station of the same name.
