Gerry Abadiano
Gerry Austin T. Abadiano (born March 8, 2001) is a Filipino college basketball player for the UP Fighting Maroons of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). He has won championships in the juniors and seniors division of the UAAP, and has played for the Philippine national under-19 team and under-17 team. High school career Adamson Baby Falcons As a Grade 6 student coming from St. Roberts International Academy who had just competed in the Palarong Pambansa, Abadiano was discovered by Coach Goldwin Monteverde, who recruited him to play for Adamson High School beginning in UAAP Season 79 (2016–17 season). Unfortunately, most of their wins that season were forfeited as they fielded an ineligible player in guard Encho Serrano. In his final game for them, he had 11 points. Point Guard
The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the Basketball positions, five positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position and is usually the shortest player on the court. Point guards are expected to control the pace of the game. They effectively "run" the team's offense by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right player at the right time. Generally, point guards are expected to be proficient in passing the ball and being able to get Assist (basketball), assists to teammates. Philippines Men's National Under-19 Basketball Team
The men's national under-19 basketball team of the Philippines represents the country in junior men's under-18 and under-19 FIBA tournaments and is governed by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas. The team has won 6 FIBA Under-18 Asia Cups making them second with the most wins in the tournament next to China. The team is also the perennial powerhouse at Southeast Asia, representing the subzone in the FIBA Asia Under-18 Championship, except in 2000, 2002 and 2006. FEU–D Baby Tamaraws
The FEU–Diliman Baby Tamaraws are the high school varsity team of Far Eastern University–Diliman in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), where they play together with the Far Eastern University senior teams, the FEU Tamaraws and Lady Tamaraws. UAAP Season 81 Basketball Tournaments
The UAAP Season 81 basketball tournaments were the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) basketball tournaments for the 2018–19 school year. Former NU Bulldogs athletic director Junel Baculi replaced Rebo Saguisag as commissioner for the season's basketball tournaments on August 28, 2018. Former Vietnam Basketball Association commissioner Tonichi Pujante was also appointed as assistant commissioner. The senior men's and women's tournaments began on September 8, 2018 while the games of the juniors' division began on November 11. The Ateneo Blue Eagles and the NU Lady Bulldogs successfully defended their championships this season. Ateneo finished first after the elimination round, followed by Adamson. 2018 Palarong Pambansa
The 2018 Palarong Pambansa was the 61st edition of the Palarong Pambansa multi-sports event and was held in Vigan, Ilocos Sur from April 15 to 21, 2018. Student athletes from 17 athletic associations representing the 17 regions of the Philippines competed in different sporting events and disciplines. Bidding The cities of Baguio, Iligan, Vigan and the province of Bukidnon made a bid to host the 61st Palarong Pambansa. In 2017, Vigan was selected host of the Games. In January 2018, the Department of Education and the provincial government of Ilocos Sur signed a memorandum of agreement regarding the hosting of the games to be held primarily in Vigan. NBTC League
The NBTC League (also known as the Smart-NBTC League for sponsorship purposes) is one of the programs under the National Basketball Training Center (NBTC). It is a Philippine high school basketball tournament through which young players are developed, and coaches and players get opportunities to move up to a higher level of competition. It features the best high school teams from all over the country, and since 2016 has also involved international teams. Format The NBTC League tournament usually begins around October or November, and ends around March. It involves players ages 19 and below. Carl Vincent Cabellon Tamayo (born February 13, 2001) is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Changwon LG Sakers of the Korean Basketball League (KBL). Encho Serrano
Florencio "Encho" Caralde Serrano (born September 18, 1999) is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Abra Solid North Weavers of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). Serrano played for the Adamson Baby Falcons in high school, but was declared ineligible to play in 2017. Later that year, he transferred to the La Salle Green Hills Greenies before moving up to play for the De La Salle Green Archers in college in 2018, he would depart De La Salle in 2021. In 2020, Serrano entered NBL–Pilipinas, playing for his hometown Pampanga Delta. In 2021, he played for the Basilan Jumbo Plastic in that year's MPBL Invitational.
