Gernot Wagner (1980 in Austria) is an Austro-American climate economist at Columbia Business School. He holds an AB and a PhD in political economy and government from Harvard University, as well as an MA in economics from Stanford University. A founding co-director of Harvard's Solar Geoengineering Research Program (2017–2019) he joined the faculty of New York University in 2019, moving to Columbia University in 2022. Wagner writes a monthly column for Project Syndicate, and is the co-author, with Martin L. Weitzman, of ''Climate Shock'', a Top 15 Financial Times-McKinsey Business Book of the Year 2015. He won the "Austrian of the Year" award in 2022, awarded by Austrian daily Die Presse. Gernot Süßmuth (born 12 October 1963) is a German violinist and politician (BSW). He is first concertmaster of the Staatskapelle Weimar and honorary professor at the University of Music Franz Liszt Weimar. Life and work As the son of Gunthard Süßmuth (head of the environmental department of Hoyerswerda), Gernot Süßmuth first attended the music school in Hoyerswerda. At the age of nine he was already performing as a soloist with an orchestra. This was followed by prizes at children's and youth competitions. At the age of 16 he studied at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin. He completed his violin studies in 1984 with a soloist diploma. In 1985 the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra hired him as concertmaster. From 2000 to 2002 he was concertmaster of the Staatskapelle Berlin. Gernot Rohr (born 28 June 1953) is a German professional football coach and former player who is currently the manager of the Benin national team. Managerial career In 1996, he managed Girondins de Bordeaux to the UEFA Cup final, where they lost to Bayern Munich over two legs, 2–0 away and 3–1 at home. Bordeaux's run to the final included a 3–0 win over AC Milan in the quarter-finals. From October 1998 until April 1999 he was sports director of Eintracht Frankfurt. Rohr was dismissed by Étoile Sportive du Sahel following a third-place finish in the league, outside of the 2010 CAF Champions League places, on 15 May 2009. Gernot Reinstadler (24 August 1970 – 19 January 1991) was an Austrian ski racer. He was regarded as among the most promising young talents of the Austrian downhill team of the early 1990s. He died in 1991 after a crash. Death During training for the Lauberhorn race, while entering the finish S (German: Ziel-S), Reinstadler lost control and crashed into safety nets at full speed, where one of his skis became trapped. Reinstadler suffered a significant pelvic fracture and severe internal injuries and bleeding. Gernot "Notty" Pachernigg (born 14 June 1981 in Graz, Styria) is an Austrian songwriter, pop singer, entertainer and actor. He became known for his participation in the third season of the talent show ''Starmania'', which was broadcast on ORF television between October 2006 and January 2007.
