Germain Iglesias
Germain Iglesias is a retired Peruvian soccer midfielder who played professionally in the North American Soccer League, Major Indoor Soccer League and Western Soccer Alliance. While born in Peru, Iglesias grew up in Paterson, New Jersey. He attended Paterson Catholic High School where he set the Passaic County high school single season scoring record with 42 goals. He then attended St. Francis College and played amateur soccer with the Brooklyn Dodgers S.C. of the Cosmopolitan Soccer League. In 1979, the Dodgers won the National Challenge Cup. In 1981, he signed with the Buffalo Stallions of the Major Indoor Soccer League. He was the 1981–1982 MISL Rookie of the Year. He spent two seasons with the Stallions before outdoors with the Golden Bay Earthquakes of the North American Soccer League. Cosmopolitan Soccer League
The Cosmopolitan Soccer League is a regional soccer league consisting of semi-pro and amateur teams based in and around New York City. Established in 1923, it is one of the oldest soccer leagues in the United States and has contributed greatly to the nation's soccer history. Currently, the league has four open divisions. The first two divisions require all clubs to also field reserve teams, a requirement that some leagues have abolished, but which the Cosmopolitan Soccer League believes makes its competition some of the strongest in United States soccer. The league also has an over-30 and an over-40 division. The league is USASA-affiliated. Chicago Sting (MISL) Players
The Chicago Sting (1974–1988) was an American professional soccer team representing Chicago. The Sting played in the North American Soccer League from 1975 to 1984 and in the Major Indoor Soccer League in the 1982–83 season and again from 1984 to 1988. They were North American Soccer League champions in 1981 and 1984, one of only two NASL teams (the New York Cosmos) to win the championship twice. The Western Soccer Alliance was a professional soccer league featuring teams from the West Coast of the United States and Western Canada. The league began in 1985 as the Western Alliance Challenge Series. In 1986, it became the Western Soccer Alliance.
