Gerhard Eichhorn
Gerhard Eichhorn (3 May 1927 – 15 December 2015) was a German graphic artist, painter and draughtsman. Life Born in Judenbach, Eichhorn attended the in Sonneberg in 1942/43 and from 1945 to 1947, graduating as a ceramic modeller. From 1950 to 1955, he studied graphic design at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig under Elisabeth Voigt, Heinz Eberhard Strüning and Heinz Wagner. He completed an Aspirantur with from 1955 to 1958, at the same time leading the evening class in nude drawing. From 1959 to 1964, he was a teacher at the Leipzig College of Applied Arts, and from 1966 to 1992, he was a lecturer at the Leipzig College of Graphic Arts and Book Art, as well as head of the workshop for etchings and copperplate engraving. From 1968, he was also head of the painting and graphic arts department. From 1976, he was vice-rector and from 1978, associate professor of this teaching institution. Leipziger Volkszeitung
The ''Leipziger Volkszeitung'' or ''LVZ'' ( German for ''Leipzig People's Newspaper'') is a daily regional newspaper in Leipzig and western Saxony, Germany. First published on 1 October 1894, the LVZ was formerly an important publication of the workers' movement and is currently the only local newspaper in Leipzig. Existing in other nearby regions in various forms, the ''LVZs circulation was 211,221 in the fourth quarter of 2011. It is owned by Madsack Group. Dietmar Eisold
Dietmar Eisold (18 September 1947 – 26 May 2017) was a German journalist and art historian. Life Born in Leipzig, Eisold completed a as bricklayer until 1966. He then studied art education and history. From 1971 to 1991, Eisold was editor for the area of fine arts at the newspaper ''Neues Deutschland'', the Zentralorgan of the Sozialistische Einheitspartei Deutschlands (SED). He was a member of the and its executive committee, where he appears as co-author of the accountability report of the central executive committee in 1988. Günter Meißner
Günter Meißner (3 July 1936 – 19 November 2015) was a German art historian, who became known as editor-in-chief and publisher of the ''Allgemeines Künstlerlexikon''. Life Born in Hanover, Meißner studierte am Kunsthistorischen Institut der Leipzig University, hier erhielt er 1958 sein Diplom und wurde 1962 mit einer Dissertation über den Maler Hans Baluschek which won him his doctorate. He was then assistant and senior assistant at the institute. From 1 January 1969, he worked for the publishing house E. A. Seemann in Leipzig on the project of the ''Allgemeines Künstlerlexikon'' and took over the management of the editorial staff of twelve, which was increased to 25 in 1976. The first volume appeared in 1983 and he remained head of the editorial staff until 1992 and co-editor until his death. Hans Vollmer
Hans Vollmer (16 November 1878 – 15 February 1969) was a German art historian. Life His father was the architect (1845-1920), his grandfather of the Hamburg marine painter and sculptor Adolph Friedrich Vollmer (1806–1875). He was the older brother of the painter and sculptor Erwin Vollmer (1884–1973). Vollmer studied art history, history of sciences and philosophy in Berlin and Munich. In 1906 he was awarded a doctorate by Heinrich Wölfflin in Berlin with a thesis on ''Schwäbische Monumentalbrunnen von der Gotik bis zum Klassizismus'' (Swabian monumental fountains from the Gothic to the Classicism).
