Gerardo Matos Rodríguez
Gerardo Hernán Matos Rodríguez (March 28, 1897 – April 25, 1948), also known as Becho, was a Uruguayan musician, composer and journalist. Background and early career Gerardo Hernán Matos Rodríguez was born in Montevideo, the son of the owner of the ''Moulin Rouge'', a popular local cabaret. He studied architecture, but did not complete the course. He began composing as a young student in 1917, and his first known work was " La Cumparsita", which he wrote on the piano of the Federación de Estudiantes of Urugua. It became one of the most recognizable tango pieces, though Matos was initially too shy to play the piece himself and it became well known through the performance of others. He travelled widely throughout Europe and stayed in Paris for a time, as well as working as Uruguayan consul to Germany. Gerardo Torrado Díez de Bonilla (born 30 April 1979) is a Mexican former professional footballer who played as a defensive midfielder. Torrado represented Mexico at the 2002, 2006 and 2010 FIFA World Cups and has won three CONCACAF Gold Cup tournaments. Gerardo Manuel de Leon Roxas Sr. (; August 25, 1923 – April 19, 1982), better known as Gerry Roxas, was a Filipino lawyer and politician. Gerardo Miranda Concepción (born 16 November 1956), known simply as Gerardo, is a Spanish former footballer who played as a right-back. Club career Gerardo was born in Nouakchott, French West Africa, to Spanish parents working there. Gerardo Daniel "Tata" Martino (born 20 November 1962) is an Argentine professional football coach and former player who last coached Major League Soccer club Inter Miami. Martino played mostly for Newell's Old Boys in his native Rosario. He holds the record of appearances with the team playing a total of 505 matches in all official competitions. He was also selected in a fan's poll as Newell's best player throughout the club's history.
