Gerard Abood
Gerard Abood (born 28 February 1972) is an Australian cricket umpire. He has officiated in matches in the Big Bash League tournament as well as women's One Day International (ODI) matches in the 2014–16 ICC Women's Championship. In November 2017, along with Geoff Joshua, he was one of the on-field umpires for the Women's Ashes Test match between Australia and England. He stood in his first Twenty20 International (T20I) match, between Australia and England, on 7 February 2018. He officiated in his first ODI, a match between Australia and South Africa, on 9 November 2018. As of December 2020, he had officiated in 2 ODIs and 8 T20Is. 2017–18 Trans-Tasman Tri-Series
The 2017–18 Trans-Tasman Tri-Series was a Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket tournament that was held in Australia and New Zealand in February 2018. It was a tri-nation series between Australia, England and New Zealand. It followed on from England's tour of Australia, which included the 2017–18 Ashes series, and took the place of the planned Chappell–Hadlee Trophy series. It was the first T20I tri-series contested by full ICC members. Australia qualified for the final after winning their first three matches. They were joined in the final by New Zealand, who despite losing to England in their final group match, qualified on net run rate. Australia won the final against New Zealand, beating them by 19 runs by the Duckworth–Lewis–Stern method, after a rain-affected match. South African Cricket Team In Australia In 2018–19
The South Africa cricket team toured Australia in October and November 2018 to play three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and one Twenty20 International (T20I) match. Ahead of the ODI series, a 50-over practice match took place at the Manuka Oval in Canberra. Ahead of the T20I match, a 20-over practice match took place in Brisbane. In April 2018, it was confirmed that the Carrara Stadium would host its first ever international cricket match. Twenty20 International
Twenty20 International (T20I) is a form of Twenty20 cricket, in which each team plays a single innings with a maximum of twenty overs. The matches are played between international teams recognized by the International Cricket Council (ICC). In the T20I format, each bowler is restricted to a maximum of four overs. A mandatory powerplay is taken during the first six overs of an innings. The first T20I match took place on 17 February 2005 between Australia and New Zealand, with the first ICC T20 World Cup held in 2007. The matches were initially competed between the full members of the ICC and selected associate member teams. In April 2018, the ICC announced that it would grant T20I status to matches played amongst any of all its 105 members from 1 January 2019.
