Gerald Floyd Williams (August 10, 1966 – February 8, 2022) was an American professional baseball outfielder who played in Major League Baseball for the New York Yankees, Milwaukee Brewers, Atlanta Braves, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, and New York Mets from 1992 to 2005. Professional career Draft and minor leagues The New York Yankees selected Williams in the 14th round, with the 366th overall selection, of the 1987 Major League Baseball draft out of Grambling State University. In 1988, in the New York–Penn League for Oneonta, he batted .365/.447/.504 with two home runs in 115 at bats. He was then promoted to High-A ball where he hit .210 in the next two seasons. Playing in a league that is notoriously tough for hitters (Florida State League) he hit .289/.344/.461. Mid-season, he was sent up to AA and the Eastern League. There, he batted .250/.328/.435. Gerald Williams (born September 8, 1963) is a former American football defensive lineman in the National Football League (NFL) for the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Carolina Panthers, and the Green Bay Packers. He played college football at Auburn University, where he was named to the 1986 All- SEC team, and was drafted in the second round of the 1986 NFL Draft. Gerald Williams (born 21 October 1954) is a Welsh former rugby union international. Born in Swansea, Williams attended Brynteg School, Heol Gam Comprehensive School. Williams was a scrum-half, who played a lot of his rugby with Bridgend RFC, notably captaining them to a win over Australia at Brewery Field in 1981. He gained four Wales national rugby union team, Wales caps across the 1981 and 1982 Five Nations Championships. Retiring as a player at age 34, Williams was briefly coach of the Glamorgan Wanderers RFC, Glamorgan Wanderers. Williams joined South Wales Police in 1989, initially as a crime scene investigator, before beginning a long career as a fingerprint laboratory technician two years later. Gerald Evan Williams (December 17, 1907 – February 17, 1949) was an American officer in the Ninth Air Force during World War II. Background and family Gerald Evan Williams was born in Bridgewater, Maine to Myron Luther Williams and Lottie Belle "Belle" (Barrett) Williams. His father's family had lived in Bradford, Maine since before the Civil War, but in his teens Myron moved to the rural potato-growing area of Bridgewater, where he lived with his sister's family, before his marriage. Belle Williams was born in Bridgewater, the daughter of a Canadian-born farmer. Myron Williams worked as a potato buyer. Myron and Belle moved their young family to Presque Isle in 1917, establishing a laundry business in an older section of town. Gerald Williams (24 June 1929 – 21 January 2016) was a British tennis commentator and journalist. Williams wrote for the ''Croydon Advertiser'' and the ''Daily Mail''. Williams was a studio guest on the nightly round-up of Wimbledon coverage on BBC television from 1981 to 1989 (from 1983 to 1989 with Des Lynam). Biography Williams was born in Surrey and spent his teenage years in Llangynog in Carmarthenshire and Croydon in south London. Williams studied at Carmarthen Grammar School and joined the ''Croydon Advertiser'' after school, becoming the sports editor of the newspaper after a few years. Gerald Williams (born 1941 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American visual artist whose work has been influential within the Black Arts Movement, a transnational aesthetic phenomenon that first manifested in the 1960s and continues to evolve today. Williams was a founding member of AfriCOBRA. His work has been featured in exhibitions at some of the most important museums in the world, including the Tate Modern, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, the Studio Museum in Harlem, and the Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia. In addition to his influence as a contemporary artist, he has served in the Peace Corps, taught in the public schools systems of Chicago and Washington, D.C., and served as an Arts and Crafts Center Director for the United States Air Force.
