Gerald A. Lewis
Gerald Alvin Lewis (March 31, 1934 – January 25, 2022) was an American attorney and politician who served in the Florida House of Representatives and was the 26th Florida Comptroller, comptroller of the State of Florida, serving from January 7, 1975, to January 3, 1995. Life and career Born in 1934 in Birmingham, Alabama, to Bernard and Molly Lewis, Gerald Lewis was educated in Birmingham schools before attending Harvard College and graduating with an A.B. degree in 1955. He then spent the next two years on active duty as a paratrooper with the United States Army, attaining the rank of captain. Lewis moved to Florida in 1960. Prior to moving, he returned to Harvard to obtain a LL.B degree. He was elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 1965 for Dade County, Florida, and served until 1970. Florida Comptroller
The Florida Comptroller was the state comptroller of Florida from 1845 to 2003 (when the position was merged with the position of Florida State Treasurer/Insurance Commissioner/Fire Marshal to create the post of Chief Financial Officer of Florida following amendments to the State Constitution). The Comptroller was a member of the Florida Cabinet and was elected by the Florida Legislature until 1865, when it became an elected office. The Comptroller was Florida's chief fiscal officer. The post was created in the 1838 Constitution and the first Comptroller took office in 1845 and assumed the duties of the Auditor of Public Accounts of Florida Territory. Ann Lewis
Ann C. Frank Lewis (born December 19, 1937) is a leading American Democratic Party strategist and communicator. Lewis served as White House Communications Director in the Clinton administration and in senior roles under Hillary Clinton. She is currently the co-chair of the Democratic Majority for Israel. Personal life Lewis was born to a Jewish family in 1937 in Jersey City, New Jersey. She is the older sister of former United States Congressman Barney Frank. She attended Radcliffe College, the former women's college within Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, but did not graduate. While there, she met Gerald A.
