It travels southeast-to-northwest along Duncan Bridge Road from US 23/ SR 365 in the western part of Baldwin to SR 75 southeast of Helen. The route serves as a gateway to Helen and the North Georgia mountains. Route description SR 384 begins at an intersection with US 23/ SR 365 (Tommy Irwin Parkway) in the western part of Baldwin in southwestern Habersham County. The route heads northwest and crosses the Chattahoochee River into White County. The highway has an intersection with SR 254. Baldwin, Georgia
Baldwin is a city in Banks and Habersham counties in the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 3,279, up from 2,425 at the 2000 census. Baldwin is located on U.S. Route 441 just south of Georgia State Route 365. Baldwin sits astride the Eastern Continental Divide, which separates waters flowing southeastward toward the Savannah River and the Atlantic Ocean from waters flowing southwestward toward the Chattahoochee River and the Gulf of Mexico. State Route 254 (SR 254) is a southwest-northeast state highway located in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. It travels through portions of Hall and White counties. Route description SR 254 begins at an intersection with SR 284 (Main Street to the south, Shoal Creek Road to the north) in Clermont, in the northeastern part of Hall County. Helen, Georgia
Helen is a city in White County, Georgia, United States, located along the Chattahoochee River. The population was 531 at the 2020 census. The city has now been made over, as a tourist attraction, to look like an old-world Bavarian village. This idea was suggested by John Kollock, an Atlanta artist. History 20th-century Helen was laid out by John E. Mitchell of St. Louis during the years 1912 and 1913. When a name for the small settlement was being sought, a lumber official suggested the name of his daughter and there was little opposition. Called the "Star of the North," Helen was incorporated on August 18, 1913. Helen was built along the former route of the Unicoi Turnpike, a 1,000-year-old Native American trail connecting Tennessee, North Carolina, and Georgia.
