State Route 309 (SR 309) is a north-south state highway located in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. It exists entirely within Decatur County. Route description Southeast of Bainbridge SR 309 begins at the Florida state line, southwest of Attapulgus. Here, the roadway continues as County Road 159 toward Havana, Florida. SR 309 heads northwest to an intersection with SR 241 just northwest of its southern terminus. The highway continues northwest, passing through rural parts of the county, and passing through the unincorporated community of Fowlstown, before it enters Bainbridge. Bainbridge The highway enters Bainbridge on South West Street. It heads north to a partial interchange with US 27/ US 84/ SR 1/ SR 38 (Wiregrass Georgia Parkway). State Route 262 (SR 262) is a L-shaped state highway located in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. It travels within portions of within Decatur and Mitchell counties, and skims the border of Grady County. Route description SR 262 begins at an intersection with US 27/ SR 1 (Tallahassee Highway) southeast of Attapulgus, in Decatur County. Here, US 27/SR 1 south almost immediately enter Florida and head toward Tallahassee. SR 262 heads to the northeast and then swings around to the northwest and the north-northwest. Concurrency (road)
In a road network, a concurrency is an instance of one physical roadway bearing two or more different route numbers. The practice is often economically and practically advantageous when multiple routes must pass between a single mountain crossing or over a bridge, or through a major city, and can be accommodated by a single right-of-way. Each route number is typically posted on highways signs where concurrencies are allowed, while some jurisdictions simplify signage by posting one priority route number on highway signs. In the latter circumstance, other route numbers disappear when the concurrency begins and reappear when it ends. In most cases, each route in a concurrency is recognized by maps and atlases.
