Georgi Balakshin
Georgy Ruslanovich Balakshin (; born March 6, 1980, in Antonovka, near Nyurba, Sakha Republic) is an Olympic boxer from Russia best known for winning the European title three times. Career Balakshin won the gold medal in 2002 and defended the crown at the 2004 European Amateur Boxing Championships in Pula. He participated in the 2004 Summer Olympics for his native Russia. There he was stopped in the quarterfinals of the Flyweight (51 kg) division by Cuba's eventual winner Yuriorkis Gamboa Toledano. In 2005 he was part of the Russian team that won the 2005 Boxing World Cup. In 2006, he once again won the European title. At the World championships 2007 he beat Frenchman Jérôme Thomas but lost to eventual winner Rau'shee Warren of America. At the 2011 European Amateur Boxing Championships he won silver. Nyurba ( rus, Нюрба, p=nʲʊˈrba; , ) is a town and the administrative center of Nyurbinsky District of the Sakha Republic, Russia, located on the Vilyuy River, a right-hand tributary of the Lena, northwest of Yakutsk, the capital of the republic. Yuriorkis Gamboa Toledano (born 23 December 1981) is a Cuban professional boxer. He held the World Boxing Association (WBA) featherweight title ( Regular version) from 2009 to 2011, and the International Boxing Federation (IBF) featherweight title from 2010 to 2011. Mirzhan Beybutovich Rakhimzhanov (; born August 18, 1983, in East Kazakhstan Oblast (now East Kazakhstan Province)) is a boxer from Kazakhstan. Rau'shee Warren (; born February 13, 1987) is an American professional boxer who held the WBA (Undisputed), and IBO bantamweight titles from 2016 to 2017. As an amateur he won a gold medal at the 2007 World Championships, as well as bronze at the 2005 and 2011 World Championships, all in the flyweight division.
