George Wilkins (composer)
George Edward Wilkins (March 14, 1934 – November 9, 2024) was an American musician, arranger, and composer who was best known for his work with the Disney Parks. Life and career George Edward Wilkins was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 14, 1934. Early career Wilkins' first foray into music was serving as a solo vocalist at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul in Detroit. Wilkins got his start in the music industry as a backup vocalist and vocal arranger for Patti Page during the 1950s. In the 1960s, he also co-founded the vocal group The Doodletown Pipers. By this time, Wilkins broke out as a composer for film and television with his work on the Rankin/Bass productions ''Return to Oz'' (1964) and ''The Wacky World of Mother Goose'' (1967). ''The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin'' is a children's animated television series based on Teddy Ruxpin, an electronic children's toy created by Ken Forsse and distributed by toy manufacturer Worlds of Wonder (WoW9. Produced in 1986–1987 for television syndication by DIC Enterprises with Atkinson Film-Arts, the series employed many of the same voice actors used in the book-and-tape series that was made for the eponymous animatronic toy. While some of the stories used in the TV series were adapted from the books, many were original and greatly expanded upon the world established there. It's A Small World
It's a Small World (stylized in all lowercase and in quotations or with exclamation mark) is an Old Mill boat ride located in the Fantasyland area at various Disney theme parks around the world. Versions of the ride are installed at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California; Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida; Tokyo Disneyland; Disneyland Paris; and Hong Kong Disneyland. Test Track
Test Track is a high-speed slot car thrill ride manufactured by Dynamic Attractions located in World Discovery at Epcot, a theme park at the Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida. Designed by Walt Disney Imagineering in partnership with Chevrolet, the ride is a simulated excursion through the rigorous testing procedures that General Motors uses to evaluate its concept cars, culminating in a high-speed drive around the exterior of the attraction. The attraction soft-opened to the public, as Test Track 1.0, on December 19, 1998, after a long delay due to problems revealed during testing and to changes in design. Food Rocks was an attraction at Epcot's '' The Land'' pavilion presented by Nestlé in the Walt Disney World Resort. The attraction, a musical stage show, with audio-animatronic figures, opened on March 26, 1994. The attraction closed on January 3, 2004. Synopsis The show was themed as a benefit concert for good nutrition hosted by Fūd Wrapper, who was voiced by real-life rapper Tone Lōc. However, the show was continually interrupted by the Excess, a junk food heavy metal band that detests nutrition. In the end, The Excess lost their power as Wrapper exclaimed, "No power? You guys have been unplugged! There's plenty of foods out there that are good to eat, but remember, always eat in moderation." The Audio-Animatronic characters were food items with human features. The Seas with Nemo & Friends (formerly The Living Seas) is a pavilion and aquarium located in the Epcot#World Nature, World Nature section of Epcot, a theme park at the Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida.
