George Verschoor
George Verschoor (born 1960) is a showrunner, director and a creator of television shows, known primarily for producing unscripted and reality series for television, such as '' The Real World'', on which he retains a creative consultant credit. He is considered one of the pioneers of non-fiction programming. Career Verschoor developed, produced and directed the first four seasons of MTV's groundbreaking series The Real World, which launched the modern non-fiction genre and is one of the longest-running reality programs in history. As an Emmy-nominated showrunner, he executive produced and directed MTV's Fear, created and ran the hybrid mystery series Murder in Small Town X for FOX, and was creator and showrunner for the live music competition series Nashville Star, which went for six season and launched the career of country music star Miranda Lambert. A showrunner is the top-level executive producer of a television series. The position outranks other creative and management personnel, including episode directors, in contrast to feature films, in which the director has creative control over the production, and the executive producer's role is limited to investing. ''Undressed'' is an American anthology series that aired on MTV from July 26, 1999, to September 5, 2002. The series was created and executive produced by British director Roland Joffé. Synopsis The series follows the relationships (both romantic and sexual) of young people, often high schoolers, college students, and twenty-somethings in the Los Angeles area. ''Blowin' Up'' is a comedy reality show on MTV. The show stars Jamie Kennedy, an actor who follows his dream of becoming a successful rapper. The show was written by Kennedy after the success of the movie ''Malibu's Most Wanted,'' in which he starred. Nick at Nite (stylized as nick@nite since 2009) is an American nighttime programming block on Nickelodeon.
