George Knox (MP, Died 1827)
The Honourable George Knox PC, FRS (14 January 1765 – 13 June 1827), was an Irish Tory politician. Biography Knox was the fifth son of Thomas Knox, 1st Viscount Northland. In 1790, Knox entered the Irish House of Commons for Dungannon. Subsequently, he sat for Dublin University until the Act of Union in 1801. Thereafter Knox sat as a Member of Parliament (MP) in the United Kingdom Parliament and represented Dublin University from 1801 to 1807. He was also elected for Dungannon in 1801 and 1806, but chose to represent Dublin University both times. George Edward Knox
Sir George Edward Knox, CSI (14 November 1845 – 20 July 1922) was a British Indian judge who worked in the high court of Allahabad. He was known for his knowledge of Indian languages and his ability to work without the need for translators. Knox was born in Madras where his father, George Francis, was a chaplain in the East India Company, and his wife Frances Mary Anne. Edmund Arbuthnott, his younger brother, later became bishop of Manchester. After studying in England at the Merchant Taylors' School from 1856 to 1862, he attended University College London for evening classes and won a prize in Sanskrit. He passed the Indian Civil Service exam in 1864 and moved to the Fort William College in Calcutta where he spent eighteen months studying Hindu, Urdu, and Sanskrit. He also knew enough Persian and Arabic to read Islamic law sources. He was posted to Meerut as an assistant collector and magistrate in 1867. George Hodges Knox
Sir George Hodges Knox, (17 December 1885 – 11 July 1960) was an Australian politician, orchardist and military officer. The City of Knox is named after him. Knox was born in the Melbourne suburb of Prahran on 17 December 1885 and educated at Scotch College, Melbourne. He was the son of William Knox, who had been a member of the Victorian Legislative Council between 1897 and 1901, and the member for Kooyong in the House of Representatives. Knox began his working life as an electrical engineer. He married Kathleen Purves MacPherson in 1909. Soon after, he moved to Beaconsfield, Victoria, to establish an orchard. He joined the Citizen Military Forces in 1909 and served during the First World War, commanding the 23rd Battalion. He divorced in 1919. In 1920 he moved to Ferntree Gully, Victoria. George William Knox, D.D., LL.D. (August 11, 1853KNOX, George William

– April 25, 1912) was an American Presbyterian theologian and writer, born at Rome, New York. He graduated from Hamilton College (New York), Hamilton College in 1874, and from Auburn Theological Seminary in 1877, after which he went as a missionary to Japan, where he was professor of homiletics in Tokyo and professor of philosophy and ethics at the Imperial University of Tokyo. Following his return to the United States, he was pastor at Rye (town), New York, Rye, New York. In 1897–1899 he lectured at Union Theological Seminary in the City of New York, Union Theological Seminary.

George Williams Knox
Major-General George Williams Knox CB (18 January 1838"Births". ''The Belfast Newsletter'' 30 January 1838. p. 4. – 6 March 1894) was a British soldier. Knox was born in Leamington Priors the son of Brownlow Knox and Louisa Sutton. He was commissioned in the Scots Fusilier Guards in January 1855 and served in the Crimean War with the Scots Fusilier Guards. He commanded the 1st Battalion of the Scots Guards during the Anglo-Egyptian War 1882. Knox was present at the Battle of Tel-el-Kebir and received a mention in despatches. Knox was created a Companion of the Order of the Bath in November 1882. On 30 April 1886, in Cottesmore, Rutland, Knox married Lady Sybil Emily Lowther, eldest daughter of Henry Lowther, 3rd Earl of Lonsdale. He died at Bulstrode Street in London on 6 March 1894. The MacDonald Hills () are a compact group of exposed rock hills in the Asgard Range, east of Commonwealth Glacier on the north side of lower Taylor Valley, Victoria Land, Antarctica. The hills were named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) (1997) after William R.
