George Kay (writer)
George Kay is an English television writer, screenwriter, and producer. He is best known as the creator of the Netflix series ''Lupin'' and ''Criminal'', the Apple TV+ thriller '' Hijack'', and ITV's '' The Long Shadow''. He has also worked on the shows '' Litvinenko'', ''Stag'', ''My Mad Fat Diary'', '' The Hour'', '' The Tunnel'', and the first season of ''Killing Eve''. Early life Whilst a teenage student at Wellington College, Berkshire, Kay met director Jim Field Smith, with whom he often collaborates. Career Kay began his career in non-scripted entertainment, serving as head of development at Twenty Twenty Television and head of factual at Blast! Lupin (French TV Series)
''Lupinus'', commonly known as lupin, lupine, or regionally bluebonnet, is a genus of plants in the legume family Fabaceae. The genus includes over 199 species, with centres of diversity in North and South America. Smaller centres occur in North Africa and the Mediterranean. They are widely cultivated, both as a food source and as ornamental plants, but are invasive to some areas. Description The species are mostly herbaceous perennial plants tall, but some are annual plants and a few are shrubs up to tall. Jim Field Smith
Jim Field Smith (born 20 February 1979) is an English film and television director, writer and producer. Early career Smith was a member of the British sketch comedy group Dutch Elm Conservatoire, who were nominated for the prestigious Perrier Award for their show ''Conspiracy'' in August 2005. The show transferred to the West End, and toured the UK. The following year, the group returned for a third year to the Edinburgh fringe and subsequently the Belfast theatre festival with a show entitled "Prison"'. He co-wrote and starred in the BBC Radio 4 comedy series '' Deep Trouble'' with Ben Willbond. As an actor, he appeared in various British TV comedies such as ''Coupling'', ''Snuffbox'' and ''My Life in Film'', and numerous commercials both on screen and as a voiceover artist. Alexander Valterovich Litvinenko (30 August 1962 ( at WebCite) – 23 November 2006) was a British-naturalised Russian defector and former officer of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) who specialised in tackling organized crime, organised crime. A prominent critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin, he advised British intelligence and coined the term "mafia state". In November 1998, Litvinenko and several other FSB officers publicly accused their superiors of ordering the assassination of the Russian oligarch Boris Berezovsky (businessman), Boris Berezovsky. ''Evacuation'' is a British children's reality television series presented by Matt Baker which was broadcast on CBBC between September 2006 and February 2008 where six boys and six girls from across the United Kingdom experienced living as evacuees in World War II. Format The children lived exactly as wartime evacuees would have: they ate meals, attended school, wore clothes, were given haircuts, and were punished for misbehavior as was customary during the 1940s. In the first episode of both series, the children had to hand over all of their 21st century items (e.g. mobile phones), which were returned at the end of the series. They were also given gas masks and ID cards, which were carried at all times. The children engaged in traditional wartime activities, such as building air-raid shelters. Wellington College, Berkshire
Wellington College is a co-educational public school providing education for boarding and day pupils in the village of Crowthorne, in Berkshire, in the United Kingdom. Wellington is a registered charity and currently educates roughly 1,100 pupils aged between 13 and 18. The college was built as a national monument to the military victory against Napoleon, and the political service as British Prime Minister, of the first Duke of Wellington, in whose honour it is named. It was established by Royal Charter in 1853. Queen Victoria laid the foundation stone in 1856, and inaugurated the school's public opening on 29 January 1859. Many former Wellington pupils fought in the trenches during the First World War, with a large number volunteering for military service immediately after leaving school. ''Criminal'' is a series of four Netflix police procedural anthology TV series set in four countries. The four series are '' Criminal: France'', '' Criminal: Germany'', '' Criminal: Spain'', and '' Criminal: UK''. The series was devised by its showrunners George Kay and Jim Field Smith, and produced by their company Idiotlamp Productions. Although the showrunners are based in the UK, each of the local three-part series is written and performed in that country's native language by native actors, but all four individual local series were shot on the same set in Madrid, Spain.
