Geordie Beamish
George "Geordie" Beamish (born 24 October 1996) is a New Zealand long-distance runner. He won the 3000m at the 2022 Millrose Games in a time of 7:39.50, also setting a national record. He also holds the New Zealand indoor 5000m record, in a time of 13:12.53 which he ran on 4 December 2021. College career In 2016 George Beamish debuted for Northern Arizona University ending his cross-country season with a ninth-place at Big Sky Championships, finished 97th at NCAA Nationals. Competing in four indoor meets, setting a personal best in the mile in 4:07.59 at the Iowa State classic. He competed in five outdoor events, opening the outdoor season with PR in the 5K (13:53.59), competing in Big Sky Championships (5000m) and NCAA West Prelims (1500m) setting career-best in the 1500m event at Bryan Clay (3:41.87). Dathan Ritzenhein
Dathan James Ritzenhein (born December 30, 1982) is a retired American long-distance runner, and current head coach of On Athletics Club. He held the American record in the 5,000 metres (12:56.27) from 2009-2010, when it was broken by Bernard Lagat. He is a three-time national cross country champion with wins at the USA Cross Country Championships in 2005, 2008 and 2010. Formerly a Nike athlete for the majority of his professional career, Dathan joined the Hansons-Brooks Distance Project team in 2017. In early May 2020, he announced his retirement from competition. He signed with the Swiss shoe brand On shortly thereafter in June 2020 and currently acts as the coach for the OAC (On Athletic Club) in Boulder, Colorado. 3000 Metres
The 3000 metres or 3000-metre run is a track running event, also commonly known as the "3K" or "3K run", where 7.5 laps are run around an outdoor 400 m track, or 15 laps around a 200 m indoor track. It is debated whether the 3000m should be classified as a middle-distance or long-distance event. In elite-level competition, 3000 m pace is more comparable to the pace found in the longer 5000 metres event, rather than mile pace. The world record performance for 3000 m equates to a pace of 58.76 seconds per 400 m, which is closer to the 60.43 seconds for 5000 m than the 55.46 seconds for the mile. However, the 3000 m does require some anaerobic conditioning, and an elite athlete needs to develop a high tolerance to lactic acid, as does the mile runner. Ollie Hoare
Oliver 'Olli' Hoare (born 29 January 1997) is an Australian middle-distance runner who primarily competes in the 1500 metres. He notably won the 1500 m at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in a Games record of 3:30.12. Career Early years Hoare's grandfather, World War II veteran Sergeant Fred Hoare, was a member of his local athletics club, and the reason for his father's and Hoare's own love of athletics. His father Greg was a track runner and a dual world beach-running champion, and Hoare took up the same activities. Hoare won the U15 (2012) and U17 (2013) 2 km beach run at the Australian titles along with team medals in the swim and board races. Joe Klecker (born November 16, 1996) is an American distance runner. He finished 2nd in the NCAA DI XC Championships in 2019 and turned pro with On Running, coached by Dathan Ritzenhein in 2020. Klecker holds PRs of 3:37.55 for 1500m, 7:39.18 for 3000m, 12:54.99 for 5000m, and 27:07.57 for 10000m, all of which were set in his Professional Career. Klecker attended Hopkins High School in Minnetonka, Minnesota. He graduated in 2015 and attended the University of Colorado in the Fall. At Colorado, he was a 9-time All-American in all 3 running sports including 2 runner-up finishes. He is currently the school's record holder in the indoor 5000m.
