Geoff Roes
Geoff Roes (born April 14, 1976 in central New York) is an American ultramarathon runner. Career Roes grew up in Cleveland, New York which is by Oneida Lake. Cleveland is northeast of Syracuse. He excelled in track and cross country at Paul V. Moore High School in Central Square, New York southwest of Oswego. He competed in cross-country at Syracuse University for one season before being continually injured. Until he moved to Alaska in 2005 he was not inrunning and he tried ultra marathon running in 2006. His girlfriend was biking the Susitna 100 and Roes entered the Little Susitna 50 in Big Lake, Alaska, a race held in conjunction with the Susitna 100 and has some of the same course as the 100 miler. He won the race, his first ultra event. In 2010 he won the American River 50 Mile Endurance Run which begins in Sacramento, California. The Wasatch Front is a major metropolitan region in the north-central part of the U.S. state of Utah. It consists of a chain of contiguous cities and towns stretched along the Wasatch Range from Santaquin in the south to Pleasant View in the north, and containing the cities of Salt Lake City, Provo, Orem, Bountiful, Layton, and Ogden. Scott Jurek
Scott Gordon Jurek (born October 26, 1973) is an American ultramarathoner, author, and public speaker. Throughout his running career, Jurek was one of the most dominant ultramarathon runners in the world, winning the Hardrock Hundred (2007), the Badwater Ultramarathon (2005, 2006), the Spartathlon (2006, 2007, 2008), and the Western States 100 Mile Endurance Run (1999–2005). In 2010, at the 24-Hour World Championships in Brive-la-Gaillarde, France, Jurek won a silver medal behind Shingo Inoue and set a new US record for distance run in 24 hours with 165.7 miles (an average pace of 8 minutes and 42 seconds per mile).
