Geoff Martin (English Footballer)
Geoffrey Martin (9 March 1940 – 6 November 2021) was an English footballer who scored 41 goals from 295 appearances in the Football League playing as a left winger for Chesterfield (in two spells), Darlington, Carlisle United, Workington and Grimsby Town. He was on the books of Leeds United, but his only appearance was in the League Cup. He won the Fourth Division championship with Chesterfield in the 1969–70 season, after which he retired. New Tupton
Tupton is a village and civil parish in North East Derbyshire, Derbyshire, England, south of Chesterfield. The population of the civil parish -- including Egstow and Old Tupton -- was 3,428 at the 2011 Census . It lies just north of Clay Cross on the A61 (Derby Road) which runs from Chesterfield to Alfreton. It comprises the areas of Old Tupton and New Tupton. However, it is generally referred to as Tupton. A similarly named area, Tapton, is a few miles away, part of Chesterfield. The village has a primary school, and a secondary school with a sixth form.
