Geoff Hutchison
Geoff Hutchison is an Australian journalist who presented the ''Drive'' program on ABC Radio Perth in Western Australia. Born and raised in Perth, Hutchison briefly attended the University of Western Australia before winning a cadetship at the '' Geraldton Guardian'' newspaper. In 1982 Hutchison moved to Bunbury and joined the Golden West Network, where he presented the late night news. The following year he joined STW-9 in Perth as a sports reporter. In 1986 Hutchison moved to Europe and began a stint as a foreign correspondent for Nine. In 1998, Hutchison join the Australian Broadcasting Corporation as a senior reporter on ''The 7.30 Report''. He moved to Brussels in 2001 and became the ABC's European correspondent, a position he held until late 2003. When Liam Bartlett went to commercial radio in early 2006, Hutchison returned to Perth to take up the position as host of 720 ABC's ''Morning'' show. ABC Radio Perth
ABC Radio Perth (call sign: 6WF) is the on-air identifier of a radio station located in Perth, Western Australia, operated by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, and broadcasting at 720 kHz AM. It is the flagship ABC Local Radio station in Western Australia. The station was established under the Sealed Set scheme by Westralian Farmers in 1924, sold to the Commonwealth Government in 1928 and provided with programmes by the Australian Broadcasting Company, became part of the Australian Broadcasting Commission in 1932, which became the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in 1983. University Of Western Australia
The University of Western Australia (UWA) is a public research university in the Australian state of Western Australia. The university's main campus is in Perth, the state capital, with a secondary campus in Albany, Western Australia, Albany and various other facilities elsewhere. The ''Geraldton Guardian'' was established at Geraldton, Western Australia on 1 October 1906 to serve the Victoria and Murchison Districts. It was launched on principles of liberal democracy, state rights, nationalism and British preference. Bunbury, Western Australia
Bunbury is a coastal city in the Australian state of Western Australia, approximately south of the state capital, Perth. It is the state's third most populous city after Perth and Mandurah, with a population of approximately 75,000. Located at the south of the Leschenault Estuary, Bunbury was established in 1836 on the orders of Governor James Stirling, and named in honour of its founder, Lieutenant (at the time) Henry Bunbury. Golden West Network
GWN7 was an Australian television network serving all of Western Australia outside metropolitan Perth. It launched on 10 March 1967 as ''BTW-3'' in Bunbury. It was an affiliate of the Seven Network and served one of the largest geographic television markets in the world—almost one-third of the continent. The network's name, ''GWN'', is an acronym of Golden West Network, the network's name from 1979 to when the current name was adopted in 2011. In 2021, GWN7's parent company Prime Media Group merged with Seven and the brand was retired in 2022. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) is the national broadcaster of Australia. It is principally funded by direct grants from the Australian Government and is administered by a government-appointed board. Liam Bartlett (born 30 June 1961) is an Australian journalist and reporter, best known for his career in radio and television. Career Born in Perth, Western Australia, previously, Bartlett had a six-year stint with ABC radio station 720 ABC Perth, presenting the morning program. He had previously worked for STW 9 in Perth and GWN in Bunbury as a news anchor and reporter. He worked for a time at 3SR in Shepparton in Victoria and Triple M in Sydney. Norman Swan
Norman Swan (born Norman Swirsky in 1953) is a Scottish-born Australian physician, journalist and broadcaster.
