Geoff Chutter
Geoff Chutter (born 1952) is the founder, president and CEO of WhiteWater West, the world’s largest designer and manufacturer of water parks. Early life Chutter was born and raised and in Vancouver, British Columbia. His father was an engineer for a Lafarge cement plant; his father’s work temporarily relocated the family to Paris where Chutter attended high school. He earned a degree as an accountant from University of Toronto. Career While working as an auditor for KPMG, he visited the first waterslide park in Canada, located in Kelowna. He founded WhiteWater West in 1980, together with his uncle, in Penticton, Canada. That location has since closed, but in 2020, the company has over 5,000 installments, 600 employees, and international offices. WhiteWater West is a manufacturing company based in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. It was established in 1980 and manufactures a variety of products for water parks including water slides and water play areas. The company also owns FlowRider, which produces a line of surf simulators. History In 1980, WhiteWater West was established by Geoff Chutter, a former accountant. The company's first project was the WhiteWater Waterslide and Recreation Complex in Penticton, Canada. In 1982, WhiteWater West acquired WhiteWater Composites. Lafarge is a French industrial company specialising in cement, construction aggregates, and concrete. It is the world's largest cement manufacturer. It was founded in 1833 by Joseph-Auguste Pavin de Lafarge and is a part of the Holcim Group. In 2015, Lafarge merged with Holcim and a new company was formed under the name of LafargeHolcim. Penticton ( ) is a city in the Okanagan Valley of the Southern Interior of British Columbia, Canada, situated between Okanagan and Skaha lakes. Vancouver Quadra is a federal electoral district in the Metro Vancouver region of British Columbia, Canada. It has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada since 1949.
