The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan Republic () is the military staff of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces. Azerbaijani Armed Forces
The Azerbaijani Armed Forces () is the military of the Azerbaijan, Republic of Azerbaijan. It was re-established according to the country's Law of the Armed Forces on 9 October 1991. The original Azerbaijan Democratic Republic's armed forces were dissolved after Azerbaijan was absorbed into the Soviet Union as the Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic from 28 April 1920. Anvar Afandiyev () is an Azerbaijani military officer, serving as the lieutenant general in the Azerbaijani Armed Forces. He is the Commander of the Azerbaijani Land Forces and a Deputy Minister of Defence of Azerbaijan. He had taken part in the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war. Colonel Rufat Amirov () is a retired military officer who had served as the acting Chief of General Staff of Azerbaijani Armed Forces and Deputy Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan Republic. He was appointed to both positions in 1992 after General Major Shahin Musayev was removed.
