General Intelligence Service (Palestine)
The Palestinian General Intelligence Service (GIS; ) is an intelligence agency responsible for internal security and intelligence within the Palestinian territories. It was established in 1994 as part of the Palestinian Authority's efforts to create a unified security apparatus in the territories under its control. Majed Faraj is the current head of GIS. The PGIS operates under the supervision of the Palestinian president, and the president appoints its director. Its primary responsibilities include gathering and analyzing intelligence on potential security threats, investigating crimes, and maintaining order and stability within the Palestinian territories. Ramallah
Ramallah ( , ; ) is a Palestinians, Palestinian city in the central West Bank, that serves as the administrative capital of the State of Palestine. It is situated on the Judaean Mountains, north of Jerusalem, at an average elevation of above sea level, adjacent to al-Bireh. Ramallah has buildings containing masonry from the period of Herod the Great, but no complete building predates the Crusades of the 11th century. Amin Al-Hindi
Amin al-Hindi (9 January 1941 – 17 August 2010) was a Palestinian politician and soldier. He served as the intelligence chief of the Palestinian Authority. He was a leader of the Black September militant movement and was suspected of involvement in the Munich massacre at the 1972 Summer Olympics that resulted in the deaths of 11 Israeli athletes and coaches. Hindi was born in Gaza City on 9 January 1941 and was actively involved with Yasser Arafat in the Fatah movement that Arafat founded in 1959. General Tawfik Mohammed Hussein al-Tirawi (born 15 November 1948, ) is a Palestinian official affiliated with Fatah. He served as the head of Palestinian Authority Intelligence in the West Bank from 1994 to 2008. He led the investigation into the death of former President Yasser Arafat. Tirawi, the head of Fatah's Commission for Intellectual Mobilization and Studies, was elected to the Central Committee at the sixth Fatah convention in 2009. Palestinian National Security Forces
The Palestinian National Security Forces (NSF; ) are the paramilitary security forces of the Palestinian National Authority. The name may either refer to all National Security Forces, including some special services but not including the Interior Security Forces, the Presidential Guard and General Intelligence, or refer to the main force within the National Security Forces. Since the signing of the Oslo Accords, these forces operate in areas controlled by the PNA. In 2003, the organizations were merged into the Palestinian Security Services. The Palestinian Preventive Security (PPS; ), also known as Preventive Security Force (PSF; ) or Preventive Security Service (PSS), is one of the security organs of the State of Palestine.
