General Immortus
General Immortus is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. He has also been called "The Forever Soldier" or "The Forever General". Publication history Immortus debuted in ''My Greatest Adventure'' #80 alongside the Doom Patrol, and was created by Arnold Drake, Bob Haney, Bruno Premiani, and Murray Boltinoff. Fictional character biography General Immortus is perhaps centuries old, and his origins are shrouded in mystery. At some points, it has even been implied that Immortus' origins lie in ancient history, having claimed on at least one occasion to have been alive at "the Dawn of Man". He once owned a diamond mine, the source of much of his current-day wealth. Immortus previously derived his immortality from a special potion. After losing the formula needed to produce the potion, Immortus establishes a syndicate to procure artifacts and sustain his life. In ''Salvation Run'', Immortus is killed by Parademons. Salvation Run
''Salvation Run'' is a seven-issue 2007-2008 DC Comics limited series which was designed to tie into the company's major event series ''Final Crisis'' in 2008. Premise The series, which is based on a pitch from George R. R. Martin, follows a world where various supervillains are captured by the Suicide Squad and imprisoned on a distant planet. The story features the villains splitting into alliances and either attempting to escape the planet, known as "Salvation", or choosing to rule over it. Bill Willingham started as writer, but had to hand the project over to Lilah Sturges after only three issues due to illness. The first issue was released in November 2007. Major characters in ''Salvation Run'' include Lex Luthor, the Joker, the Rogues (Heat Wave, Captain Cold, Weather Wizard, Abra Kadabra and Mirror Master), and other morally ambiguous heroes such as Scandal Savage and Catwoman. ''The Brave and the Bold'' is a comic book series published by DC Comics as an ongoing series from 1955 to 1983. It was followed by a reprint miniseries in 1988, two original miniseries in 1991 and 1999, and was revived as an ongoing anthology title in 2007 and 2023.
