General Bajwa
Qamar Javed Bajwa (; born 11 November 1960) is a retired Pakistani four-star General (Pakistan), general who served as the tenth Chief of Army Staff (Pakistan), chief of the Army Staff of Pakistan Army, Pakistan from 29 November 2016 to 29 November 2022. In 2018, he was ranked 68th in the Forbes list of the World's Most Powerful People, ''Forbes'' list of the World's Most Powerful People. Originally from Gakhar Mandi, Gujranwala District, Gujranwala, Bajwa was born into a Punjabi Muslims, Punjabi Jat Muslim, Jat family of the Bajwa clan in Karachi. Bajwa was educated at the F. G. Sir Syed College and Gordon College (Pakistan), Gordon College in Rawalpindi before joining the Pakistan Military Academy in 1978. Bajwa was commissioned in 1980 in the 16th Battalion of the Baloch Regiment. General (Pakistan)
General ; ; abbreviated as GEN) is a Four-star rank, four-star general officer military rank, rank of the Pakistan Army, officially used by the government of Pakistan to denote a supreme leader of the army. It is given to an army general officer (usually a lieutenant general) upon promotion or possibly a position advancement with a Pay grade, basic pay scale of 22 (BPS-22). It is the highest rank in the Pakistan Armed Forces, armed services, immediately ranks above three-star Lieutenant general (Pakistan), lieutenant general and below five-star Field marshal (Pakistan), field marshal. Since it is denoted by a four-star rank, it is equivalent to the rank of Admiral (Pakistan), admiral and Air chief marshal (Pakistan), air chief marshal.
