Gemma Davies
Gemma Davies (born 1 July 1991) is an English football manager who is the former manager of Aston Villa Women and as of 2023 coaches the England women's under-23 team. Early life Davies began coaching aged 15 for Erdington Ladies under-10 and under-12 youth teams, where her sister played. She later gained an Master of Arts in Sports Science from Loughborough University. Managerial career Aston Villa Women After working towards her UEFA A License and acting as assistant head coach for Birmingham City Women in the 2017–18 WSL 2 season, Davies was appointed head of Aston Villa Women in June 2018, while continuing in her role as Head of Women’s Football at the University of Birmingham. In the 2019–20 Women's Championship, after gaining two wins from the opening games, Davies was awarded the Manager of the Month award for August 2019. Kingstanding
Kingstanding is an area in north Birmingham, England. It gives its name to a ward in the Erdington council constituency. Kingstanding ward includes the areas; Perry Common, Witton Lakes and Wyrley Birch. The other part of Kingstanding falls under the Oscott ward. Kingstanding houses a covered drinking water reservoir, Perry Barr Reservoir, on the site of the former Perry Barr Farm. Kingstanding is served by two libraries; Kingstanding Library and Perry Common Library. The area known as Kingstanding Circle is where the Kingstanding village centre lies with its shops and Kings Road/ Kingstanding Road roundabout. The League Managers Association (LMA) is the trade union for Premier League, EFL and national team managers in English association football. The LMA awards the LMA Manager of the Year award annually. Women's Championship (England)
The Women's Championship (formerly The FA Women's Championship) is the second-highest division of women's football in England. The division was established in 2014 as the FA Women's Super League 2 (WSL 2). WSL 2 replaced the previous level 2 division, the FA Women's Premier League (WPL) National Division, which ended after the 2012–13 season. The WPL's last national division champions, Sunderland A.F.C. Women, were not promoted and also became the first winners of WSL 2 in the 2014 season. In addition to Sunderland, other WPL clubs that joined WSL 2 in 2014 were Watford and Aston Villa. Anita Amma Ankyewah Asante (born 27 April 1985) is an English football coach and former defender or midfielder who is the first-team coach at Bristol City. Asante is of Ghanaian descent, the appellation " Amma" is of Akan origin, given to girls born on Saturday. She obtained 71 caps for the English national team and was selected in the Great Britain squad for the 2012 London Olympics. The 2022 UEFA Women's Under-19 Championship (also known as UEFA Women's Under-19 Euro 2022) was the 19th edition of the UEFA Women's Under-19 Championship (23rd edition if the Under-18 era is included), the annual international youth football championship organised by UEFA for the women's under-19 national teams of Europe. 2022 UEFA Women's Under-19 Championship Qualification
The 2022 UEFA Women's Under-19 Championship qualifying competition was a women's under-19 football competition that determined the seven teams joining the automatically qualified hosts the Czech Republic in the 2022 UEFA Women's Under-19 Championship final tournament. A record 52 teams, including hosts the Czech Republic, entered the qualifying competition. Players born on or after 1 January 2003 were eligible to participate. Carla Ward (born 21 December 1983) is an English football coach and former midfielder who is the manager of Aston Villa in the FA Women's Super League. Early life Born on the Isle of Wight, Ward grew up on a council estate in Torquay where she learned to play football in the street. Club career After a season in Spain with Sporting Plaza de Argel, Ward joined Leeds United for 2007–08, but signed for Lincoln in December 2007. In summer 2009 Doncaster Rovers Belles beat competition from other Premier League clubs to secure Ward's signature, but she experienced a "change of heart" and returned to Lincoln after a few weeks. Marcus Bignot (born 22 August 1974) is an English football manager and former professional player. He is currently assistant coach of the England U19s and first-team coach at Cheltenhham Town. Bignot's playing career spanned nearly 20 years, primarily as a right back, but he has also been used in a midfield role. He began his career at Telford United in 1992 where he spent four years in the Football Conference there.
