Gemini (musician)
Thomas Slinger, known professionally as Gemini, is an English producer, songwriter, vocalist and DJ, active between 2010 and 2016. Born and raised in Leicester, he soon discovered a talent for the production of electronic dance music (particularly dubstep) and released his first EP, ''Blue'', on 14 February 2011 while studying at Leeds University. Electronic dance music (EDM), also referred to as dance music or club music, is a broad range of percussive electronic music genres originally made for nightclubs, raves, and List of electronic dance music festivals, festivals. The terms special edition, limited edition, and variants such as deluxe edition, collector's edition or expanded edition are used as a marketing incentive for various kinds of products, originally published products related to the arts, such as books, prints, recorded music and films, and video games, but now including clothing, cars, fine wine, and whisky, among other products. A limited edition is restricted in the number of copies produced, although in fact the number may be very low or very high. Suzuki (2008) defines limited edition products as those “sold in a state that makes them difficult to obtain because of companies limiting their availability to a certain period, quantity, region, or channel". Kasseem Daoud Dean (born September 13, 1978), known professionally as Swizz Beatz, is an American rapper and record producer. Born and raised in the Bronx borough of New York City, Dean embarked on his musical career as a DJ in 1994. At the age of 18, he gained recognition in the music industry through his family's record label Ruff Ryders Entertainment and affiliation with its flagship artist, Yonkers, New York, Yonkers-based rapper DMX. Dean emerged as a high-profile figure in East Coast hip-hop through his tenure as DMX's hype man, DJ and producer. Sean John Combs (born November 4, 1969), better known by his stage name Diddy, and formerly Puff Daddy and P. Diddy, is an American rapper, record producer, and record executive. Kelis Rogers (; born August 21, 1979) is an American singer-songwriter and chef. She attended Manhattan, New York's Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, where she played saxophone and was selected for the Girls Choir of Harlem. Upon graduation, Rogers landed a role as a backing vocalist for the hip hop group Gravediggaz. "Oxygen" is a song by British new rave band Hadouken!. It was released as the second single from their third studio album '' Every Weekend'' on 7 November 2010. The EP was released later on 18 January 2011. Background "Oxygen" is the second of two songs (the other being "Mecha Love") that the band had confirmed to be released as singles in 2010, before the rest of their third album is recorded in January 2011. The song was mistakenly released on Beatport on the same date as "Mecha Love", several weeks before the announced release date. To compensate for this, the official release date was pushed back into December and the release was extended into an EP. Hadouken! were a British dance-punk band formed in London in 2006 by singer, songwriter and producer James Smith and synth player Alice Spooner along with guitarist Daniel "Pilau" Rice, bassist Christopher Purcell and drummer Nick Rice. A charity record, charity album, or charity single is a recording with most or all proceeds raised going to a dedicated foundation or charity. In 1956, The Lord's Taverners released a 78 rpm disc which contained six tracks donated by popular artists at the time. The record was released by The Decca Record Company and the entire profits of the record together with the royalties and fees from artists, publishers, etc., were donated to The National Playing Fields Association. KOAN Sound ( ; named after the word ''kōan'') is an English electronic music production duo from Bristol, consisting of Will Weeks and Jim Bastow. A track from the ''Max Out EP'' is titled "One Hand Clap" – a reference to a well-known ''kōan'' with the implied answer of silence. They initially gained recognition as dubstep producers, with earlier popular tracks including "Akira". Some of their many types of music includes glitch hop, neurohop, and Drum & Bass. The UK Independent Singles Breakers Chart and the UK Independent Album Breakers Chart are music charts based on UK sales of singles and albums released on independent record labels by musical artists who have never made the UK top 40. It is compiled weekly by the Official Charts Company (OCC), and is first published on their official website on Friday evenings.
