Gejza Baranyai (born 13 November 1983 in Marcelová) is a Slovak football player who currently plays for MŠO Štúrovo. He is of Hungarian descent. Career Born in Marcelová, Baranyai began playing football for Štúrova. He next signed for Slovak Superliga side AS Trenčín, and went on loan to LAFC Lučenec. Marcelová
Marcelová ( hu, Marcelháza, Hungarian pronunciation:) is a village and municipality in the Komárno District in the Nitra Region of south-west Slovakia. Geography The village lies at an altitude of 112 metres and covers an area of 35.75 km2. History In the 9th century, the territory of Marcelová became part of the Kingdom of Hungary. In historical records, the village was first mentioned in 1245. After the Austro-Hungarian army disintegrated in November 1918, Czechoslovak troops occupied the area, later acknowledged internationally by the Treaty of Trianon. Between 1938 and 1945, Marcelová once more became part of Miklós Horthy's Hungary through the First Vienna Award. From 1945 until the Velvet Divorce, it was part of Czechoslovakia. The Czech First League, known as the Fortuna liga for sponsorship reasons, is a Czech professional league for football clubs. At the top of the Czech football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. Seasons typically run from August to May, most games are played on Saturdays and Sundays with few games played on Fridays. All Fortuna liga clubs qualify for the Czech Cup. The history of the Czech football league began with its reorganization for the 1993–94 season following the dissolution of Czechoslovakia and therefore the league became the successor of the Czechoslovak League. Thirty-five clubs have competed in the Fortuna liga since its founding. Sparta Prague has won the title 12 times, the most among Czech clubs.
