Geist (album)
''Geist'' is the fourth studio album by American electronicore band the Browning. It was released on October 26, 2018, through Spinefarm Records and was produced by Jonny McBee. Background and promotion On August 17, 2018, the Browning released the first single "Carnage" featuring Jake Hill. At the same time, they announced the album itself, the album cover, the track list, and release date. On September 21, the band unveiled the second single "Final Breath" and its corresponding music video. On October 19, one week before the album release, the band published the third and final single "Geist" featuring Paul Bartzsch of We Butter the Bread with Butter. Critical reception ''Geist'' received generally positive reviews from critics. The Browning
The Browning is an American metalcore band formed in Kansas City, Missouri in 2005. The band's musical style is characterized by an eclectic blending of electronicore and deathcore. The group currently consists of vocalist Jonny McBee, drummer Cody Stewart, bassist Akeem Bivens, and guitarist Jon Yadon Jr. They are currently signed to Spinefarm Records. The band has released five studio albums and two EPs. History Formed in early 2005, The Browning was originally a solo project of Jonny Mcbee. Later, the rapper Matt Keck joined the project. Later on in 2010, Matt Keck left The Browning to be a comedian, and appeared on ''Tosh.0'' in a viewer video titled "I'm a Snake". The two EPs saw a change in style as drummer Noah Robertson, guitarist Brian Cravey, and bassist Jesse Glidewell joined. Electronicore (also known as synthcore or trancecore) is a fusion genre of metalcore with elements of various electronic music genres, often including trance, electronica, and dubstep. Reception Sumerian Records noted in the late 2000s that "there has been a surplus of electronica/ hardcore music as of late." Attack Attack! is often recognized as the primary American contributor of the style, being inspired by British band Enter Shikari. Metalcore
Metalcore (also known as metallic hardcore) is a fusion music genre that combines elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk. Deathcore
Deathcore is an extreme metal subgenre that combines death metal with metalcore. The genre consists of death metal guitar riffs, blast beats, and metalcore breakdowns. Spinefarm Records is a Finnish independent record label focusing mainly on heavy metal artists. It is a subsidiary of Universal Music Group. History Spinefarm Records was originally founded in 1990 by Riku Pääkkönen as a mail-order distribution company for rock and heavy metal albums and singles, but later became a record label for Finnish acts such as Nightwish, Children of Bodom, and Sonata Arctica. We Butter the Bread with Butter (also known as WBTBWB) is a German deathcore band noted for their heavy use of electronic music characteristics. The group was founded in 2007 by guitarist Marcel Neumann and vocalist Tobias Schultka, was signed to Redfield Records, and have released two albums through the label. Their debut album ''Das Monster aus dem Schrank'' was released on November 21, 2008.
