Carl Friedrich Geiser
Carl Friedrich Geiser (26 February 1843, Langenthal – 7 March 1934, Küsnacht) was a Swiss mathematician, specializing in algebraic geometry. He is known for the Geiser involution and Geiser's minimal surface. Education and career Geiser's father was a butcher and innkeeper. The famous Swiss mathematician Jakob Steiner was Carl F. Geiser's great-uncle. Geiser studied for four semesters from 1859 to 1861 at the Zürich Polytechnikum and then went to Berlin for four semesters from 1861 to 1863 to study under Karl Weierstrass and Leopold Kronecker. Since the support from his parents was not sufficient, he gave private lessons to students, some of whom were found for him by Weierstrass and Kronecker. He graduated in 1863 and returned to Switzerland as a ''Privatdozent'' at Zürich Polytechnikum. David Geiser
David Geiser (June 28, 1947 – October 14, 2020) was an American painter and creator of several underground comix. Life and works David Geiser was an abstract expressionist painter, born in Rochester, New York in 1947. He studied at the University of Vermont and the Art Students League. In 1969, he postponed starting in Yale University, moving instead to San Francisco and began drawing underground comix, while befriending other underground comic creators such as S. Clay Wilson and San Francisco Comic Book Company founder Grey Arlington and immersed himself in illustrations. Geiser created several underground comic titles in the early 1970s, including Saloon, Demented Pervert, Clowns, Uncle Sham, DTs, Pain, Sloppy Seconds, and Edge City. The number of issues produced ranged from 1,000 to about 10,000. Geiser left San Francisco in 1976 and spent two years in Paris, where he studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts. Geiser Manufacturing
Geiser Manufacturing Company was an early manufacturing company in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania. Geiser Manufacturing was incorporated in 1869 by Peter and Daniel Geiser. The company built grain separators, threshers, plows, and steam traction engines. The company's brand name was Peerless. The main building was 334 ft long and 3 stories in height, and had a 34 ft cupola. In January 1891 its total monthly payroll amounted to over 10,000 US dollars ($239500 in 2010 dollars) and employed 162 people. In 1899 the company expanded outside Waynesboro and bought the Crowell industrial park in Greencastle, Pennsylvania, and began producing its Geiser's first gasoline engines there. Up to this point, all its products had been steam-powered.
