Geely Galaxy E5
The Geely Galaxy E5 (), also known globally as the Geely EX5, is a battery electric compact crossover SUV produced and manufactured by the Chinese automaker Geely Auto. First debuted in May 2024, it is the second battery electric vehicle within the company's Galaxy product line after the Galaxy E8 sedan. It is the first vehicle to be built on Geely's Global Intelligent New Energy Architecture (GEA) platform, a derivative of the company's self-developed Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA). A plug-in hybrid version of the car, the Galaxy Starship 7, was made available since October 2024, featuring a revised styling but retains some of its body panels as the former. Malaysian automaker Proton, whose has been a subsidiary of Geely since 2017, also marketed and sold the vehicle as the Proton eMas 7 (stylised as e.MAS 7) in Malaysia and select markets since December 2024, as the brand's first battery electric vehicle. Overview The vehicle was first revealed with a set of ...

Global Intelligent New Energy Architecture Platform
The GEA (Global Intelligent New Energy Architecture) is an automobile modular platform developed by Geely, unveiled in 2024, and designed to integrate technologies such as artificial intelligence Artificial intelligence (AI) is the capability of computer, computational systems to perform tasks typically associated with human intelligence, such as learning, reasoning, problem-solving, perception, and decision-making. It is a field of re ... (AI), high-performance electrification, and smart connectivity. According to Geely, the GEA platform is the world's first architecture to integrate hardware, software, ecosystems, and AI into a unified system. This "four-in-one" approach enables vehicles to adapt to future technologies while ensuring scalability across energy types, including battery electric, plug-in hybrid, range-extender, and methanol. In May 2025, Geely unveiled its GEA Evo architecture at the Shanghai Auto Show. Building upon the original GEA architecture, this upgrade ...

China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle
The China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC) () is a driving cycle standard introduced by the government of China to measure the energy consumption, driving range and emissions of light-duty vehicles, including both internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles and electric vehicles (EV). It was developed with a goal to align vehicle testing with Chinese real-world driving conditions, and to replace the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) in China. The CLTC was first adopted into regulation by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) in October 2021 under the national standard "GB/T 38146.1-2019, China Automotive Test Cycle Part 1: Light Vehicles". It allows the manufacturer of battery electric vehicles to report all-electric range and energy consumption based on either the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) or CLTC. The CLTC testing accounts for the country's higher congestion levels with more frequent stop-and-go and lower speed limits, which lead to ...

Front-wheel Drive
Front-wheel drive (FWD) is a form of internal combustion engine, engine and transmission (mechanics), transmission layout used in motor vehicles, in which the engine drives the front wheels only. Most modern front-wheel-drive vehicles feature a transverse engine, rather than the conventional longitudinal engine arrangement generally found in automobile layout#Rear wheel drive layouts, rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel drive, four-wheel-drive vehicles. Location of engine and transmission By far the most common layout for a front-wheel-drive car is with the engine and transmission at the front of the car, mounted transversely. Other layouts of front-wheel drive that have been occasionally produced are a front-engine mounted longitudinally, a mid-engine layout and a rear-engine layout. History Prior to 1900 Experiments with front-wheel-drive cars date to the early days of the automobile. The world's first self-propelled vehicle, Nicolas-Joseph Cugnot's 1769/1770 Nicola ...

Nanometre
330px, Different lengths as in respect to the Molecule">molecular scale. The nanometre (international spelling as used by the International Bureau of Weights and Measures; SI symbol: nm), or nanometer (American spelling), is a unit of length in the International System of Units (SI), equal to one billionth ( short scale) or one thousand million (long scale) of a meter (0.000000001 m) and to 1000  picometres. One nanometre can be expressed in scientific notation as 1 × 10−9 m and as  m. History The nanometre was formerly known as the "''millimicrometre''" – or, more commonly, the "''millimicron''" for short – since it is of a micrometer. It was often denoted by the symbol ''mμ'' or, more rarely, as ''μμ'' (however, ''μμ'' should refer to a ''millionth'' of a micron). Etymology The name combines the SI prefix '' nano-'' (from the Ancient Greek , ', "dwarf") with the parent unit name ''metre'' (from Greek , ', "unit of measurement"). ...

System-on-a-chip
A system on a chip (SoC) is an integrated circuit that combines most or all key components of a computer or electronic system onto a single microchip. Typically, an SoC includes a central processing unit (CPU) with memory, input/output, and data storage control functions, along with optional features like a graphics processing unit (GPU), Wi-Fi connectivity, and radio frequency processing. This high level of integration minimizes the need for separate, discrete components, thereby enhancing power efficiency and simplifying device design. High-performance SoCs are often paired with dedicated memory, such as LPDDR, and flash storage chips, such as eUFS or eMMC, which may be stacked directly on top of the SoC in a package-on-package (PoP) configuration or placed nearby on the motherboard. Some SoCs also operate alongside specialized chips, such as cellular modems. Fundamentally, SoCs integrate one or more processor cores with critical peripherals. This comprehensive integrat ...

Operating System
An operating system (OS) is system software that manages computer hardware and software resources, and provides common daemon (computing), services for computer programs. Time-sharing operating systems scheduler (computing), schedule tasks for efficient use of the system and may also include accounting software for cost allocation of Scheduling (computing), processor time, mass storage, peripherals, and other resources. For hardware functions such as input and output and memory allocation, the operating system acts as an intermediary between programs and the computer hardware, although the application code is usually executed directly by the hardware and frequently makes system calls to an OS function or is interrupted by it. Operating systems are found on many devices that contain a computerfrom cellular phones and video game consoles to web servers and supercomputers. , Android (operating system), Android is the most popular operating system with a 46% market share, followed ...

Automechanika
Automechanika is the world's biggest trade fair for the automobile aftermarket. It is held every two years (in even years) at the Messe Frankfurt. In distinction to the Motor Show, Automechanika is open to trading visitors only. History On 20 January 1971, the organizer of the Frankfurt Motor Show, the Association of the German Automobile Industry (Verband der Deutschen Automobilindustrie – VDA) canceled the show scheduled to be held the following September. According to the President of the Association, Dr. Johann Heinrich von Brunn, this was because the automobile industry needed to take cost-saving measures to counteract the high costs facing it. The cost of the exhibition – almost DM 100 million – was considered to be excessive in comparison to the business benefits. For the Frankfurt-based fair and exhibition company, Messe Frankfurt, cancellation would have meant a loss of at least DM 1.5 to 2 million in revenues. In mid-March 1971, Messe Frankfurt announced that ...
