Ge Zhenfeng
Ge Zhenfeng (; born October 1944) is a retired general of China's People's Liberation Army. Biography Born in Qingyuan County (now Qingyuan District, Baoding), Hebei, Ge joined the PLA in June 1962 and the Chinese Communist Party in July 1965. In 1984, he became the vice chief of staff of PLA army corps. In 1988, he was promoted to chief of staff of 39th army corps. He became the commander of 64th army corps in 1992. In November 1996, he was elevated to chief of staff of PLA Shenyang Military Region. He became vice commander of Shenyang MR in January 1999. The Academy of Military Sciences () is the highest-level research institute of the People's Liberation Army (PLA). It is headquartered in Beijing. The academy was founded in March 1958 and as of 2002, its staff included approximately 500 researchers, making it the largest research institution in the PLA. Baoding is a prefecture-level city in central Hebei province, approximately southwest of Beijing. Shenyang Military Region
The Shenyang Military Region was one of seven military regions for the Chinese People's Liberation Army. It has command and control of military and armed police forces in the three northeast provinces of Jilin, Heilongjiang, and Liaoning, which also form Military Districts. This region is now superseded by the Northern Theater Command. The Shenyang Military Region was left with unchanged boundaries since the late 1960s. It is bordered internally by the Beijing Military Region to the west. Externally, it is bordered by North Korea to the south east and the Russian Far East to the north.
