Gavin Moynihan
} Gavin Moynihan (born 17 September 1994) is an Irish professional golfer who plays on the European Tour. Partnered with Paul Dunne, they won the 2018 GolfSixes. Amateur career Moynihan had a successful amateur career winning the Irish Amateur Open Championship in 2012 and 2015 and twice playing in the Walker Cup. He attended the University of Alabama from 2013 but left during his sophomore year. Professional career Moynihan turned professional immediately after the 2015 Walker Cup, making his professional debut in the 2015 Italian Open. During 2016 he made the cut in the Irish Open and tied for third in the Open La Pinetina on the Alps Tour. He had his first professional win in April 2017 when he won the Lookers Championship on the PGA EuroPro Tour. The next month he was runner-up in the Andalucía Costa del Sol Match Play 9, on the Challenge Tour, losing 2&1 to Aaron Rai in the final. Eisenhower Trophy
The Eisenhower Trophy (World Men's Amateur Team Championships) is the biennial World Amateur Team Championship for men organized by the International Golf Federation. Since the tournament was first played in 1958, it is named after Dwight D. Eisenhower, the President of the United States at the time, who was a keen amateur golfer. The equivalent competition for women is the Espirito Santo Trophy. Results The 1958 championship resulted in a tie. There was an 18-hole playoff which Australia won with a score of 222 to the United States 224. From 1958 to 2000 the teams had four players with the best three scores counting for each round. Junior Ryder Cup
The Junior Ryder Cup is a team golf competition between Europe and the United States for junior golfers aged 18 and under. It is based on the men's Ryder Cup and is run by the same organisations, the PGA of America and Ryder Cup Europe. The 2018 event took place at Golf Disneyland, Marne-la-Vallée, Paris, France on Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 September. The United States won 12–11, their sixth successive victory in the event. Format The teams consist of six boys and six girls. From 2008 to 2018 the tournament was played over two days of foursomes, fourball and singles matches. There were three boys' matches and three girls' foursomes matches and six mixed fourball matches on the first day. The Jacques Léglise Trophy is an annual amateur boys' team golf competition between Great Britain & Ireland and the Continent of Europe. It was first played in 1977, as a one-day match before the Boys Amateur Championship, but since 1996 it has been played as a separate two-day match. The European Boys' Team Championship (Jean-Louis Dupont Trophy) is a European amateur team golf championship for men up to 18 organized by the European Golf Association. Romain Wattel
Romain Wattel (born 10 January 1991) is a French professional golfer. In September 2010, Wattel became just the fifth amateur to win on the European Challenge Tour, when he captured the Allianz EurOpen Strasbourg. It was the second win by an amateur during the 2010 season following Andreas Hartø two weeks previously. Wattel turned professional in November 2010. He established himself on the European Tour, with best performances of second at the 2012 Omega European Masters and the 2015 Trophée Hassan II. Wattel finished 28th in the 2014 Race to Dubai. Michaël Lorenzo-Vera (born 28 January 1985) is a French professional golfer. Career Lorenzo-Vera was born in Bayonne, Pyrénées-Atlantiques in South-West France. After turning professional in 2005, Lorenzo-Vera played on the Alps Tour, one of Europe's third tier development tours. In 2006, he won the Open International de la Mirabelle D’or, a tournament he had also won the year before as an amateur, on his way to 4th on the Order of Merit, which gave him a place on the Challenge Tour for the following season. The 2017 PGA EuroPro Tour was the 16th season of the PGA EuroPro Tour, one of four third-tier tours recognised by the European Tour. Schedule The season consisted of 15 events and the end-of-season Tour Championship. The Scottish Men's Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship is the national amateur stroke play golf championship in Scotland. Entry is open to all amateur golfers.
