Gaurav Chakraborty
Gaurav Chakrabarty is an Indian Bengali-language film and television actor best known for his portrayal of the character Prodipto Lahiri in the Bengali musical television series '' Gaaner Oparey'' that aired on Star Jalsha from 28 June 2010 to 16 April 2011. Chakrabarty is also known for acting in the Bengali classic periodic thriller television series '' Byomkesh'' (2014-2015), where he played the role of iconic Bengali detective Byomkesh Bakshi. He hails from a family which has had a legacy of association with the Bengali cultural arena, starting from Jochhon Dastidar and Chandra Dastidar (his paternal great uncle and aunt), Bijon Bhattacharya (his paternal great uncle), Jagadish Chandra Chakrabarty and Monika Chakrabarty (his paternal grandparents), and his parents Sabyasachi Chakrabarty and Mithu Chakrabarty. Byomkesh Bakshi is a fictional detective created by Bengali author Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay. A self-proclaimed "satyanweshi" (literally seeker of truth), Bakshi is known for his keen observation, logical thinking, and knowledge of forensic science, which he uses to solve complex murder cases, mostly set in Calcutta. His first appearance was in the story '' Pother Kanta'' (1932), where he demonstrates his deductive skills, but his formal introduction occurs in ''Satyanweshi'' (1934), a murder mystery involving cocaine trafficking. Byomkesh adopts the alias Atul Chandra Mitra in this story, where he meets Ajit Bandyopadhyay, who becomes his close companion and the narrator of the Byomkesh stories. Zee Bangla is an Indian Bengali-language general entertainment pay television channel owned by Zee Entertainment Enterprises.
