Carl Gatto
Carl J. Gatto (December 29, 1937 — April 10, 2012) was a Republican member of the Alaska House of Representatives, representing the 13th District since 2002. Before public office Carl Gatto was a paramedic and fire officer for the Anchorage Fire Department. Early life Carl J. Gatto was born on December 29, 1937, in New York City. He first attended Brooklyn Technical High School and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Brooklyn Polytechnic. Gatto went on to study at California State University in San Jose, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in physical science and biology, along with teaching certifications for high school and special education. He later obtained a Master of Science in biology from Northern Arizona University. Eddie Gatto
Edward Thomas Gatto (December 26, 1916 – June 9, 1944) was an American football tackle who played for the LSU Tigers. Gatto was born on December 26, 1916, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He attended high school at S. J. Peters before playing college football at LSU. While at LSU, he twice earned All-SEC and All-American honors. He also was the only player from the 1937 All-SEC team to earn a position on the 1938 squad. Mississippi State coach Spike Nelson described him as "one of the top notch tackles in the county" and Loyola coach Larry Mullins nominated him for the All-America team. Following his collegiate career, he was chosen as the 33rd pick in the 1939 NFL draft by the Cleveland Rams. He was LSU's fourth ever draft pick. He did not play with the Rams and was shortly afterwards drafted into the United States Army during World War II. Giulia Gatto-Monticone (born 18 November 1987) is an Italian former tennis player. Victor Joseph Gatto (born July 23, 1893 New York City, died May 25, 1965 Miami) was an American primitive artist. Most of his work depicts daily life in New York, biblical scenes, or wildlife. He was most active in the 1940s and 1950s. His work has been compared to that of Henri Rousseau. Early life Gatto was born in New York City on July 23, 1893, to an Italian-American family. His early life was marked by hardship. Gatto lived with his parents and four brothers in a Little Italy tenement until his mother died when he was 4. Gatto's father, a blue collar laborer, surrendered the children to an orphanage until he remarried four years later. Gatto dropped out of school after fifth grade to enter the workforce, working odd jobs to help his family. In 1913, he became a professional boxer.
