Gateway Island
Gateway Island is an unpopulated locality of the City of Wodonga local government area in northeast Victoria, Australia, adjacent to the Murray River and bounded in the south by the Wodonga Creek. The island is immediately to the south of neighbouring Albury, making it part of the larger Albury-Wodonga settlement. The Wiradjuri people (; ) are a group of Aboriginal Australian people from central New South Wales, united by common descent through kinship and shared traditions. They survived as skilled hunter-fisher-gatherers, in family groups or clans, and many still use knowledge of hunting and gathering techniques as part of their customary life.
