''Gate 13'' is a 2018 collaborative album by American hip hop artists AmpLive and Del the Funky Homosapien. Reception Writing for ''Pitchfork Media'', Phillip Mlynar rated this release a 7.4 out of 10; explaining the collaborative nature of the release, he sums up that "Del may be the MC in this duo, but Amp Live’s production speaks just as loudly as the rhymes" and opining that "the album is full of inspired hip-hop production". Amp Live is an American alternative hip hop producer and disc jockey. He was one half of the duo Zion I, but left the group in 2015 amicably. He has remixed works by Radiohead, Tokyo Police Club and Jamie Lidell. Life and career Born and raised in Texas, Amp Live released ''Rainydayz Remixes'', an 8-track remix project of Radiohead's ''In Rainbows'', in 2008. He received a cease and desist letter from Warner/Chappell, informing him that ''Rainydayz Remixes'' "created musical arrangements/remixes" without proper approval. After building an internet movement, primarily through YouTube, Stereogum and Pitchfork Media, a settlement was reached and Amp Live was allowed to release the album for free. Eligh
Eli Nathan Nachowitz (born February 28, 1978), better known as Eligh, is an American rapper and producer from Los Angeles. He is a member of the underground hip hop group Living Legends. Biography Eligh's inspiration for making hip hop music came in the mid 1980s from the film ''Beat Street'' and LL Cool J's "I'm Bad." In high school, he co-founded the hip hop duo Boogalu Badboys with Scarub. When they crossed paths with another rapper Murs, the three formed 3 Melancholy Gypsys (3MG). Eligh then moved from Los Angeles up north to the Bay Area, where he met The Grouch, which ultimately led to 3MG's incorporation into Living Legends. Turntablism is the art of manipulating sounds and creating new music, sound effects, mixes and other creative sounds and beats, typically by using two or more Phonograph, turntables and a cross fader-equipped DJ mixer. The mixer is plugged into a PA system (for live events) or broadcasting equipment (if the DJ is performing on radio, TV or Internet radio) so that a wider audience can hear the turntablist's music. Teren Delvon Jones (born August 12, 1972), better known by his stage name Del the Funky Homosapien (sometimes stylized as Del tha Funkee Homosapien) or Sir DZL, is an American rapper.
