Gary Robert Coward
Lieutenant-general (United Kingdom), Lieutenant General Sir Gary Robert Coward, (born 26 August 1955) is a retired senior British Army officer, who served as Chief of Materiél (Land) and Quartermaster-General to the Forces from September 2009 until his retirement in May 2012. Military career Coward was Officer (armed forces), commissioned into the Royal Artillery in 1974, but transferred to the Army Air Corps (United Kingdom), Army Air Corps in 1983. In 1995 he was deployed to the Bosnia and was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire for his service there. He provided daily briefings on television from Sarajevo during the conflict. He was appointed Director of Equipment Capability at the Ministry of Defence (United Kingdom), Ministry of Defence in 2003, and then moved on to be Commander Joint Helicopter Command in 2005. Northwood is an area in the London Borough of Hillingdon, North West London, located northwest of Charing Cross. Northwood was part of the ancient parish of Ruislip, Middlesex. The area was situated on the historic Middlesex boundary with Hertfordshire, and since being incorporated into Greater London in 1965, has been on the Greater London boundary with that county. It has also been within the Metropolitan Police District Metropolitan_Police_District#1840_revision, since 1840. The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire is a British order of chivalry, rewarding valuable service in a wide range of useful activities. General Sir Christopher Michael Deverell, (known as Chris), is a retired British Army officer who served as Commander of the UK's Joint Forces Command and member of the UK Chiefs of Staff Committee from April 2016 to May 2019. Early life and education Deverell was educated at Wellington College, Berkshire. He studied philosophy, politics and economics at Mansfield College, Oxford, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in 1982.
