Gary A. Phillips (December 7, 1939 – January 26, 2025) was an American basketball player. A guard, Phillips starred at the University of Houston during the late 1950s and early 1960s. He was the University of Houston's first All-American basketball player, earning Second-team All-American honors in 1959–60 and First-team honors in 1960–61. A two-time All-Missouri Valley Conference selection, Phillips ended his college career having scored 1,452 points. He played five seasons (1961–1966) in the National Basketball Association as a member of the Boston Celtics and San Francisco Warriors The Golden State Warriors are an American professional basketball team based in San Francisco. Gary Phillips (English Footballer)
Gary Christopher Phillips (born 20 September 1961) is an English football coach and former goalkeeper. He is the head of academy goalkeeping at Watford Football Club. Phillips started his career as a schoolboy at Southampton in 1976. He played at the senior level from 1978 to 2000 at various teams including Barnet, Brentford, and Reading. Philips was voted as Player of the Year for Barnet in 1982, 1984 and 1993 and helped them gain promotion to the Football League in 1991. Philips was also player-manager at Barnet Aylesbury United, and Hemel Hempstead Town. His coaching career included spells at numerous clubs including Grays Athletic, Hemel Hempstead Town, and Stevenage, as well as multiple returns to Barnet. Philips joined Watford as academy head of goalkeeping for the start of the 2022–23 season. Gary Phillips (born 9 June 1963) is an Australian soccer coach and former professional player, who is coach of the Cook Islands women's national team. Playing career A central midfielder, Phillips played for more than a decade with Sydney Olympic in the National Soccer League before joining Brisbane Strikers, winning titles with both clubs. Gary Phillips is a New Zealand former rugby league footballer who played in the 1950s and 1960s. He represented New Zealand in the 1960 World Cup. Playing career Phillips played for Ellerslie in the Auckland Rugby League competition and represented Auckland.
