Gary Nolan (baseball)
Gary Lynn Nolan (born May 27, 1948) is an American former professional baseball player. He played in Major League Baseball as a right-handed pitcher from through , most notably as a member of the Cincinnati Reds dynasty that won four National League pennants and two World Series championships between 1970 and 1976. He played his final season with the California Angels. In 1983, Nolan was inducted into the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame. Early life Nolan was born in Herlong, California, and his family then moved to Oroville, California, when he was young. In February 1965 at age 17 he married high school sweetheart Carole Widener. He graduated from Oroville High School in 1966. Nolan was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the first round (13th pick overall) of the 1966 Major League Baseball Draft. Gary P. Nolan (born 1954 in Cleveland, Ohio) is an American talk radio host and a former candidate for the Libertarian Party nomination for President of the United States. From 1994 to 1998, Nolan hosted ''USA Radio Daily'' on the USA Radio Network. From 1998 to 2002, he hosted ''Nolan at Night'' on 65 U.S. affiliates of the Radio America Network. He also served as the volunteer President of the conservative group CapitolWatch from 1997 through 1999. Nolan currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for DownsizeDC.org. At the end of 2002, he resigned from Nolan at Night to seek the Libertarian nomination for president, facing fellow candidates Michael Badnarik and Aaron Russo. Nolan had to resign from his radio show due to a law that prohibits candidates for office making an income while discussing their political views. Gary Nolan (rugby League)
Gary Nolan (born 31 May 1966) is an English former rugby league footballer for Hull FC. Nolan was a substitute, and scored a try in Hull FC's 14–4 victory over Widnes in the Premiership Final during the 1990-91 season at Old Trafford, Manchester on 12 May 1991. He had previously scored the winning try in the semi-final against Leeds, leapt into the air to collect a bomb from Greg Mackey and taking the ball out of the hands of Leeds "star" All-Black full-back John Gallagher. Nolan had been an amateur with Hull Dockers just six weeks previously. He made his mark in the Old Trafford game after entering as a 48th-minute substitute. He claimed the clinching try in the 14–4 win with just 10 minutes remaining when he stretched out an arm through a tangle of bodies. It was only his fourth first-team appearance and he enjoyed only a short career.
