Gary Newbon
Gary Newbon MBE (born 15 March 1945 in Cambridge) is an English television sports presenter and executive. Biography Born in Cambridge, Newbon attended Culford School near Bury St Edmunds, where he captained the rugby first XV and edited the school magazine. Upon leaving school he became a junior reporter in Cambridge and then a freelance Fleet Street journalist reporting on tennis and rugby union. He began his television career at Westward Television in the 1960s,''Power, Corruption and Pies Volume 2'', WSC Books Limited, , p. 141 and then as an ATV sports reporter for their ''ATV Today'' programme in the early 1970s. The continuing illness ATV Controller of Sports Billy Wright meant that Newbon and a small team, including Trevor East, had to carry out Wright's functions whilst covering up the extent of his ill health. Gabriel Clarke
Gabriel Clarke is a British TV journalist and documentary filmmaker. Clarke earned an English Literature degree from the University of London and began his journalistic career with local newspapers in Somerset and Bristol. He started his sports broadcasting career with Radio Trent in the East Midlands before moving into TV. Clarke joined ITV Sport in 1991, as a reporter for the ''Saint and Greavsie'' television programme. He has worked across ITV Sport's output covering European Championships, FIFA World Cups, Rugby World Cups, the Boat Race and World Championship boxing, and also presenting ITV's Football League highlights show '' Football League Extra''. 2005 Premier League Darts
The 2005 888.com Premier League was the first season of the Premier League Darts tournament organised by the Professional Darts Corporation. Phil Taylor, Colin Lloyd, Peter Manley, John Part, Roland Scholten, Wayne Mardle and wildcard entrant Mark Dudbridge were the seven players who competed in a round-robin tournament which had a total prize fund of £140,000 – with £50,000 going to the eventual winner. Format The Premier League started in Stoke-on-Trent on 20 January 2005 before moving around the country. The league system the players play each other twice over 12 legs, with two points for a win and one for a draw. All 12 legs were played regardless of whether a result had already been achieved. You're On Sky Sports
You're On Sky Sports is a topical football phone-in discussion television programme that was broadcast on Sky Sports, Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports News Radio. Originally hosted by Rob Hawthorne then Rob McCaffrey and Gary Newbon, the show was chaired by Jason Cundy. There will always be one or two panel members, whether former football professionals or others involved with the game in some form. Regulars include Steve Claridge, Kenny Sansom, Peter Beagrie, Tony Gale and Warren Barton. The program usually aired at 10pm either the night of a UEFA Champions League match or a Premier League match that is aired on Sky Sports. As from the start of the 2007/2008 season, YOSS is regularly broadcast at 7.30pm on Saturday evenings for 55 minutes, and every Wednesday evening around 10pm for 90 minutes.
