Gary Lydon
Gary Lydon is a British-Irish stage and screen actor from Northolt in England. He is known for playing the Garda Peadar Kearney in '' The Banshees of Inisherin''. Lydon played Patrick Murray, the counsellor on RTÉ One's '' The Clinic'', from 2003 to 2009, a role for which he won an IFTA for Best Supporting Actor in 2007. He also played Bomber in '' Pure Mule''. He has performed on stage as Brendan in ''Borstal Boy'' and in Martin McDonagh's ''The Pillowman.'' Background Born in England, Lydon moved with his family to Wexford as a child. As of November 2022, he was living in Leitrim. Northolt
Northolt is a town in North West London, England, spread across both sides of the A40 trunk road. It is west-northwest of Charing Cross and is one of the seven major towns that make up the London Borough of Ealing and a smaller part in the London Borough of Harrow It had a population of 30,304 at the 2011 UK census. History The earliest record of Northolt is in 872 as the Anglo Saxon ''norð healum'', where norð is North and healum (or hale) is ''a nook, corner, or retreat'',. ''Brooklyn'' is a 2015 Romance film, romantic Historical drama, period drama film directed by John Crowley (director), John Crowley and written by Nick Hornby, based on Brooklyn (novel), the 2009 novel by Colm Tóibín. Patrick Shortt (born 12 December 1967) is an Irish actor, comedian, writer, and entertainer. His role in the 2007 film ''Garage'' led to him receiving the IFTA for Best Actor. He is most notably remembered for his role as Tom in the television series ''Father Ted''. Career Shortt toured alongside Jon Kenny as the comedy duo D'Unbelievables. They released "One Hell of a Video", "D'Unbelievables", "D'Video" (a live random sketch show), "D'Telly" (featuring Shortt and Kenny playing various characters – primarily two brothers who run a shop together), "D'Mother" (in which Kenny's character oversaw the running of a public house alongside his "mother" – who was later revealed to be his father, in a role played by Shortt) and "D'collection". ARD is a joint organisation of Germany's regional Public broadcasting, public-service broadcasters. It was founded in 1950 in West Germany to represent the common interests of the new, decentralised, post-war broadcasting services—in particular the introduction of a joint television network. ARD has a budget of €6.9 billion, 22,612 employees and is the largest public broadcaster network in the world. The budget comes primarily from a mandatory licence fee which every household, company and public institution, regardless of television ownership, is required by law to pay. Florian Gärtner
Florian Gärtner (born 23 April 1968 in Korbach) is a German film director and author. Life and career Florian Gärtner grew up in Marburg and London. He studied English literature and media studies at Philipps University, Marburg and the Free University, Berlin. At age 15, Gärtner made his first home movie. He continued making shorts and eventually award-winning feature-length Super-8-films throughout his school and university years. Gärtner's film ''Dragonland'' premiered at the Max Ophüls Film Festival in 1999, where it won the Interfilmpreis. The film also screened at the Berlin Film Festival 1999. "An Encounter" is a short story by James Joyce. It is second in a collection of Joyce's short stories called ''Dubliners''. In the story, two young boys experience an eerie encounter with a strange, old man. It deals with themes such as routine and wanderlust. The story The story, narrated in the first person, is about a boy and his friend Mahony taking a day off from school to seek adventure in their dull lives. The boy has sought escape from his daily routine in stories of the American frontier, Wild West and American detective stories and in make-believe warfare with his schoolmates.
