Gary Dickson
Robert Gary Dickson is a lawyer and former member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta and the first Saskatchewan Information and Privacy Commissioner. Dickson was initially elected as a member of the Alberta Liberal Party in a 1992 by-election that had been called after the death of famous MLA Sheldon Chumir, defeating Rod Love, a well-known political consultant. He went on to be re-elected for two more terms in the 1993 and 1997 general elections, and retired from the legislature in 2001. Legislative Assembly Of Alberta
The Legislative Assembly of Alberta is the deliberative assembly of the province of Alberta, Canada. It sits in the Alberta Legislature Building in Edmonton. The Legislative Assembly currently has 87 members, elected first past the post from single-member electoral districts. Bills passed by the Legislative Assembly are given royal assent by the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, as the viceregal representative of the King of Canada. Sheldon Chumir
Sheldon Mervin Chumir (December 3, 1940 – January 26, 1992) was a lawyer and politician from Alberta, Canada. Sheldon Chumir was born in Calgary to a Jewish family. He studied law at the University of Alberta, from which he graduated in 1963 with the gold medal. He continued his education as a Rhodes Scholar and earned a Bachelor of Letters degree from Oxford University in 1965. Law, business career and political activism Chumir began his professional career as a tax lawyer with the federal Department of Justice in Toronto. In 1971, he joined a Calgary law firm. In 1976, he launched his own private practice focusing on civil liberties cases which on occasion provided representation on a pro-bono basis. Roderick Michael Love (August 5, 1953 – October 26, 2014) was a Canadian political strategist. He served as chief of staff to Ralph Klein during Klein's tenure as Mayor of Calgary and Premier of Alberta. Political career He was born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan in 1953. Calgary-Buffalo is a current provincial electoral district in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The district is one of 87 districts mandated to return a single member (MLA) to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta using the first past the post method of voting. Calgary-Buffalo is currently represented by NDP MLA Joe Ceci. The riding comprises primarily the downtown core of the city of Calgary. The riding has broad demographic diversity, and comprises the most transient population in Alberta. Harvey Cenaiko
Harvey Cenaiko (born July 15, 1956 in Wakaw, Saskatchewan) is a Canadian former police officer and one-time Solicitor General and Minister of Public Safety for the Province of Alberta. Cenaiko was elected to his second term as Member of the Legislative Assembly for the riding of Calgary-Buffalo on November 22, 2004.
