Garokk
Garokk (also known as the Petrified Man) is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Publication history Garokk first appeared in '' Astonishing Tales'' #2 (Nov. 1970) and was created by Roy Thomas and Jack Kirby. Fictional character biography Garokk was originally a sailor from Great Britain, whose ship, the ''H.M.S. Drake,'' crashed on the shores of Antarctica during the 15th century. The sailor was swept overboard and taken by a warm stream to the Savage Land. Wandering the Savage Land, the sailor entered the lands of the Sun People, who worshipped the Sun god Garokk. The sailor found a statue of Garokk with a cup beneath it. Thirsty, the sailor drank from the cup, but was chased off by the Sun People. The sailor escaped and managed to return to the Kingdom of England, but found that he had become immortal after drinking the potion. Zaladane
Zabu Zadkiel Zadkiel is a former archangel in the service of Heaven and an enemy of the Ghost Rider, named after the mythical angel of the same name. Created by Jason Aaron, the character debuted in ''Ghost Rider'' (vol. 4) #27. Zadkiel was in charge of overseeing the Spirits of Vengeance in God's army, and gradually developed a hatred of humanity as God favored the sinners over the angels. This led him to decide to overpower and dethrone God, something that he would need the power of Spirits of Vengeance to do. It was revealed that he had endowed Johnny Blaze with the powers of the Ghost Rider. As a backup plan Zadkiel used Blaze's brother, Daniel Ketch. The Savage Land is a hidden prehistoric land appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. It is a tropical preserve hidden in Antarctica. It has appeared in many story arcs in ''Uncanny X-Men'' as well as other related books. Kevin Plunder is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The second character to bear the Ka-Zar name, he was created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby, and first appeared in ''Uncanny X-Men, The X-Men'' #10 (March 1965). Publication history The second Ka-Zar started as a character similar to the first Ka-Zar (David Rand), Ka-Zar, but also reminiscent of both Tarzan and of writer-artist Joe Kubert's 1950s caveman character, Tor (comic book), Tor. John Lindley Byrne (; born July 6, 1950) is a British-born American writer and artist of superhero comics. Since the mid-1970s, Byrne has worked on many major superheroes; with noted work on Marvel Comics' '' X-Men'', '' She-Hulk'' and '' Fantastic Four''. Byrne also facilitated the 1986 relaunch of DC Comics' '' Superman'' franchise, the first issue of which featured comics' first variant cover. Marvel 2099 is a Marvel Comics imprint, started in 1992, that was originally one possible future of the Marvel Universe, but later revealed in a climax of ''Superior Spider-Man Goblin Nation arc'' and ''Amazing Spider-Man'' Vol. 3 #14 to be the Earth of the prime Marvel continuity in the distant future. Sauron is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by writer Roy Thomas and artist Neal Adams, and made his first appearance in '' The X-Men'' #59 (August 1969). Sauron is the alter ego of physician Dr. Karl Lykos.
