Garik Saribekyan
Garik Saribekyan (born 26 April 1970 in Yerevan, Armenia) is a composer and musician, band lead and founder of Nuance Jazz Band. Garik is widely regarded as one of the most notable characters on the Armenian jazz stage, and has been named Honourable Culture Contributor of Yerevan in 2014. Early life Garik Saribekyan was born in a family of musicians and has become familiar to musical instruments since early age. His father, now Honoured Artist of Armenia, has noticed his outstanding feeling of rhythm when Garik used to tap rhythmic beat sequences on a chair, who, at that time was nearly as tall as the chair itself. Due to this, many predicted his musical career as a drummer. Luckily, his music teacher gave him freedom to express and develop in the direction that he felt most passionate about. Taron Andraniki Margaryan ( arm, Տարոն Անդրանիկի Մարգարյան, born 17 April 1978, Yerevan) is a politician from Armenia. He was the 11th mayor of Yerevan from 2011 to 2018. Head of community and early career From 2001 to 2003, he worked as a leading specialist for Armenia's State Committee of Real Estate Cadastre in the territorial unit of Nor Nork, and later became the head of the department. In 2003, he was appointed as the Deputy Head of the Ministry of Bioresources Management Agency. In 2005, he was elected at the age of 27 as head of the district of Avan in the city of Yerevan and was re-elected in 2008 for a second term. During Margaryan's two terms in office, the district of Avan was recognized by Armenia as the best district for two years in a row. International Jazz Day
International Jazz Day is an International Day declared by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization in 2011 "to highlight jazz and its diplomatic role of uniting people in all corners of the globe." It is celebrated annually on April 30. The idea came from jazz pianist and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Herbie Hancock. Jazz Day is chaired by Hancock and the UNESCO Director-General. Sayat-Nova (Armenian: Սայեաթ-Նովայ ( сlassical), Սայաթ-Նովա ( reformed); ka, საიათნოვა; ; ; born Harutyun Sayatyan; 14 June 1712 – 22 September 1795) was an Armenian poet, musician and ''ashugh'', who had compositions in a number of languages.
