Gariaband District
Gariaband District is one of the 33 districts of Chhattisgarh. It has its headquarters at Gariaband town. The district was carved out of Raipur district in 2012. History The earliest history of the district is associated with Rajim. At the Rajiv Lochan temple, a 7th-century inscription records the king as Vilasatunga, most likely from the Nala dynasty. The region was controlled by a variety of powers, including the Mauryas and Guptas. Bhooteshwarnath
Bhuteshwarnath (or Bhooteshwarnath) (भूतेश्वरनाथ महादेव) also known as Bhakurra Mahadeva (भकुर्रा महादेव) is a temple of Lord Shiva, situated near Marouda Village of Gariaband district, Chhattisgarh, India. It is in the middle of the Gariaband Forests. It is the second largest natural Shivlinga (Lingam) in the world, after Siddheshwarnath in Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh. Jatmai Mata Mandir
Jatmai Mata Mandir or Jatmayi Temple is a Hindu temple of Goddess Durga ji located in Gariaband district, 80 km from state capital Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India. The water streams just adjacent to the temple of Mata touch her feet and fall down from the rocks. According to local beliefs, these water streams are the servants of the mother. Every year a fair is organized in the temple of Mata in the Navratri of Chaitra and Kunwar. This temple of Jatmai Mata is built between the waterfalls; hence it is also one of the most popular picnic spots in Chhattisgarh.
