Uned 5 (''"Unit 5"'') is a BAFTA award-winning teenage magazine show, broadcast live every week on Welsh channel S4C between 1994 and 2010. The programme was the channel's flagship youth magazine for over sixteen years. On 24 November 2009, S4C announced that the programme would be axed as part of a major revamp of the station's youth programming. Gethin Jones
Gethin Clifford Jones (born 12 February 1978) is a Welsh television presenter. He was an active rugby union player while at Manchester Metropolitan University and, after graduation, he began his television career on Welsh language channel S4C as a presenter of children's programmes such as ''Popty'', ''Mas Draw'' and the flagship children's entertainment show ''Uned 5'' (''Unit 5'', 2002–2005). In 2005, Jones became the 31st presenter of BBC children's programme ''Blue Peter''. In 2020, he began presenting the BBC1 five-mornings-a-week magazine show ''Morning Live'', broadcast from studios in Manchester. After a trial run ending in December 2020, the success of the programme has seen it commissioned as an all-year-round part of the BBC1 schedule. Lisa Gwilym
Lisa Gwilym (born 17 June 1975) is a Welsh broadcaster. She is best known as a presenter for BBC Radio Cymru and the Welsh language television channel, S4C. Television Gwilym began her career at S4C in 1998 as a continuity presenter for the ''Planed Plant'' children's strand. In October 2001, she joined the S4C live teen magazine programme ''Uned 5'' (Unit 5) as a presenter. During her time on the show, she took part in the 2003 John Cooper Mini Challenge. She also co-presented a special documentary with then-colleague Gethin Jones from Madagascar. Gwilym quit as presenter in December 2004, but stayed with the programme as a producer until 2006. Urdd Gobaith Cymru
Urdd Gobaith Cymru () (known as the Urdd) is a national voluntary youth organisation, which claimed over 56,000 members in 2019 aged between 8 and 25 years old. It provides opportunities for children and young people across Wales to take part in a range of experiences through the medium of Welsh. The Urdd turned 100 on 25 January 2022 and celebrated by breaking 2 Guinness World Records. Urdd Gobaith Cymru also has 5 residential centres for children and young people across Wales. National Eisteddfod
The National Eisteddfod of Wales (Welsh: ') is the largest of several eisteddfodau that are held annually, mostly in Wales. Its eight days of competitions and performances are considered the largest music and poetry festival in Europe. Welsh ( or ) is a Celtic language of the Brittonic subgroup that is native to the Welsh people. Welsh is spoken natively in Wales, by some in England, and in Y Wladfa (the Welsh colony in Chubut Province, Argentina).
