Gare Du Midi Metro Station
(French language, French) or (Dutch language, Dutch) is a List of Brussels metro and premetro stations, rapid transit station in Brussels, Belgium, consisting of both a rapid transit, metro station (on the southern segment of lines Brussels Metro line 2, 2 and Brussels Metro line 6, 6) and a ''Trams in Brussels, premetro'' (underground tram) station (serving lines Brussels tram route 4, 4 and Brussels tram route 10, 10 on the North–South Axis between Brussels-North railway station and Albert premetro station). The metro station opened on 2 October 1988 as the southern Train station#Terminus, terminus of line 2 from Simonis and Elisabeth stations, Simonis. Line 2 has since been extended beyond / to Clemenceau metro station, Clemenceau in 1993, Delacroix metro station, Delacroix in 2006, and Brussels-West station, Gare de l'Ouest/Weststation in 2009. Albert Premetro Station
Albert (; ) is a '' premetro'' (underground tram) station located on the border between the municipalities of Saint-Gilles and Forest in Brussels, Belgium. The station is at the crossroad between the / on the Greater Ring and the /, between Forest Park and Saint-Gilles Prison. The station is the last stop south of the North–South Axis, a tram tunnel crossing the city centre from Albert to Brussels-North railway station. Tram routes 4 and 10 stop at this station. There is also a connection at ground level with tram route 51, as well as bus routes 48 and 54. As line 3 of the Brussels Metro is built, Albert station will be reconfigured; tram routes 2 and 3 will terminate there. Emporis was a real estate data mining company with headquarters in Hamburg, Germany. The company collected data and photographs of buildings worldwide, which were published in an online database from 2000 to September 2022. Emporis was acquired by CoStar Group in October 2020. South Tower (Brussels)
The South Tower (; ) is a 38-storey, skyscraper constructed between 1962 and 1967 in Brussels, Belgium. The tower is the List of tallest buildings in Belgium, tallest building in Belgium, and was the tallest in the European Economic Community (EEC) when it was built, until it was surpassed by Tour Montparnasse in Paris in 1972. The South Tower stands adjacent to Brussels-South railway station. The building's façade was reclad in 1995–96 with unitised glass panels using double glass solarbel silver, and it can accommodate about 2,500 office workers. It was built for the Federal Public Service Finance, Belgian Federal Pensions Service (FPS), which still occupies it today, and it is thus often also called the Pensions Tower (; ). Thalys
Thalys (French: ) was a brand name used for high-speed rail, high-speed train services between Paris Gare du Nord and both Amsterdam Centraal and German cities in the Rhein-Ruhr, including Aachen, Köln Hauptbahnhof, Cologne, Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof, Düsseldorf, Duisburg Hauptbahnhof, Duisburg, Essen Hauptbahnhof, Essen and Dortmund Hauptbahnhof, Dortmund, both via Brussels-South railway station, Brussels-South. Thalys was created out of a political ambition formalised in October 1987 to establish a network of international high-speed railway services between the cities of Paris, Brussels, Cologne and Amsterdam. Eurostar
Eurostar is an international high-speed rail service in Western Europe, connecting Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. The service is operated by the Eurostar Group which was formed from the merger of Eurostar, which operated trains through the Channel Tunnel to the United Kingdom, and Thalys which operated in Western Europe. Brussels-South Railway Station
Brussels-South railway station, also known as Brussels-Midi railway station (; ), is a major railway station in Brussels, Belgium. Geographically, it is located in Saint-Gilles, Belgium, Saint-Gilles/Sint-Gillis on the border with the adjacent municipality of Anderlecht and just south of the City of Brussels. Cross-platform Interchange
A cross-platform interchange is a type of Interchange station, interchange between different lines at a metro (or other railway) station. The term originates with the London Underground; such layouts exist in other networks but are not commonly so named. In the United States and Canada, it is often referred to as a cross-platform transfer. This configuration occurs at a station with island platforms, with a single platform in between the tracks allocated to two directions of travel, or two side platforms between the tracks, connected by level corridors. The benefit of this design is that passengers do not need to use stairs to another platform level for transfer. A cross-platform interchange arrangement may be costly to build due to the complexity of rail alignment, especially if the railway designers also arrange the track with overpass, flyovers (which is typically done to increase efficiency). Brussels-West Station (; ) is a multimodal transport hub located in the municipality of Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, in the western part of Brussels, Belgium. It mainly consists of (French) or (Dutch), a Brussels Metro station on lines 1, 2, 5 and 6, as well as a tram and bus stop. Additionally, Brussels-West railway station (; ) is a railway station operated by the National Railway Company of Belgium (SNCB/NMBS). Delacroix Metro Station
Delacroix () is a Brussels Metro station on lines 2 and 6. It is located in the municipality of Anderlecht, in the western part of Brussels, Belgium. It is an elevated station, running parallel to the /, and forming a bridge-viaduct over the Brussels–Charleroi Canal, with entries and exits leading to and from both banks of the canal. The station takes its name from that nearby street, itself named after Léon Delacroix, Belgium's 22nd Prime Minister. The metro station opened on 4 September 2006 as the southern terminus of line 2. On 4 April 2009, the "loop" of line 2 was completed with the junction between Delacroix and Gare de l'Ouest/Weststation.
