Gao Tianzheng
Gao Tianzheng (; January 1931 – 26 January 2022) was a lieutenant general in the People's Liberation Army of China who served as director of Political Department of the Guangzhou Military Region from 1988 to 1990. He was a delegate to the 7th National People's Congress. He was a member of the 9th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. He was a member of the 14th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party. Biography Gao was born in Tong County, Hebei (now Tongzhou District of Beijing), in January 1931. He enlisted in the People's Liberation Army (PLA) in 1948, and joined the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in the following year. He was present at the Pingjin campaign and the Yangtze River Crossing campaign during the Chinese Civil War. After the establishment of the Communist State, in 1950, he took part in the Korean War. Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference
The Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC, zh, 中国人民政治协商会议), also known as the People's PCC (, ) or simply the PCC (), is a political advisory body in the People's Republic of China and a central part of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)'s United Front system. Its members advise and put proposals for political and social issues to government bodies. However, the CPPCC is a body without real legislative power. While consultation does take place, it is supervised and directed by the CCP. The body traditionally consists of delegates from the CCP and its front organizations, eight legally-permitted political parties subservient to the CCP, as well as nominally independent members. (; ja, 将, Shō; ) is the rank held by general officers in some East Asian militaries. The ranks are used in both the People's Republic of China and the Republic of China on Taiwan. The People's Liberation Army and the People's Armed Police use three levels at present while the Republic of China Armed Forces use four. Major General
Major general (abbreviated MG, maj. gen. and similar) is a military rank used in many countries. It is derived from the older rank of sergeant major general. The disappearance of the "sergeant" in the title explains the apparent confusion of a lieutenant general outranking a major general, whereas a major outranks a lieutenant. In the Commonwealth and in the United States, when appointed to a field command, a major general is typically in command of a division consisting of around 6,000 to 25,000 troops (several regiments or brigades). It is a two-star rank that is subordinate to the rank of lieutenant general and senior to the rank of brigadier or brigadier general.
